Vivid smoke is out of naut's plus the coils are high and I was thinking about getting a cheaper one for starters or should I order a naut shomewhere else? Opinions?
Are nautilus clearo's better for beginners than vivi nova bottom coils or pro tank 2's?

Absolutely agree with klynn, protank 2 and protank 2 minis are the best clearo's to start out with. Even the t3s's are pretty simple. Do not over tighten though because they tend to leak into the stem with over tighting Light bulb tight.
Do I need a metal spacer for the kanger to fit the vamo? Also,1.8ohm heads or 2.2's for replacements?
I would go with 2.2 because it will give more voltage range. A lot of the protanks come with a beauty ring you prob won't need it on the v5.
Scott - I am using protanks and like them. Easy to use and Matt is correct saying "light bulb tight"! I learned the hard way
Got it in the cart,wow,this is hard,wayyyy too many choices to make without experience.I hope it will be better when I have something to go by.
You can also rebuild the protank coils as you get more experience so don't throw them away after using.
I started with a PT2 mini and the crappy plastic clearo that came with my twist copy, and now have picked up a Protank3 and a few PT3 Minis. The PT3 and Minis are awesome. I prefer the 1.5Ohm coils for the duals, didn't take to the 2Ohm that came with the PT3 at all.

I'm a little late to this post, but I have both the nautilus and the vivi nova. I prefer the vivi nova. Luckily I have my husband to pass the nautilus too, but for the money, I wish I would have just bought another vivi nova
