Are parts interchangeable between different models?

Hi all

I'm still brand new to all this..actually just placed my first order and am waiting for it to arrive.

In the meantime, I've continued to read and soak up all the information I can from these forums, which leads me to this question...

I ordered a Joye 510 for my first e-cig/starter kit. From my reading, I'm starting to realize the advantages of going with something like an EGo though, and am anticipating a probable upgrade to one of these in the near future. If I do upgrade to an EGo, would I have to purchase it as a new starter kit? Or would I be able to interchange some or any of the parts (like the atomizer, for instance) from my 510 to the EGo and only have to purchase new EGo batteries?

Thanks for any help!

Your attys or cartos will work with an ego but your charger will not. You will need a charger made for a 650mAh+ battery, and the 650+ charger will not work with your small 510 batteries. Otherwise you'll be fine.
This is true.

If (when) you find that the regular 510 batteries don't hold up to your use, just order a ego batt and charger. anything 510 wil fit on an ego. I'd suggest the 1000mah ego battery or 2, as I vape pretty heavy and one lasts me 10-12hrs between charges. I go through a 1000mah through the day, then switch to another 650mah before bed, when I charge the 1000. when I wake up in the morning, I grab the 1000 and charge the 650 while I'm drinking coffee/getting ready and carry it in case of an emergency malfunction (hasn't happened (knocks on wood).

That is one of many reasons why 510 are great -- lots of things to buy that will fit and your current atty's (or cartos) will fit on the ego batteries, as others have said.

But, I do think it is worth getting an ego starter kit. Nothing wrong with having an extra atty (or two). It will come with appropriate charger. Some places give free shipping on starter kits. Check it out -- do the math. There are even kits out there that have only one battery--so it can be a pretty nominal investment---and I started ego adventures with one of those.

You are lucky! Most ecigs are not compatible with each others parts because there are so many different threadings and some parts are even the opposite sex between models.

But the original manufacturer of 510 and Ego are both Joye and they are both 510 threading.

1 - each should use their own charger cable. Ego charger can damage slim batteries

2 - 510 can use only standard resistance atomizers and cartomizers because LR (low resistance) attachments can damage the slim batteries. Ego can use both standard and LR

3 -Some atomizers are longer or wider and may not be compatible with the same carts or drip tips

4 - If your 510 is auto battery then dripping is not recommended and you need to be super carreful with filling cartomizers since if a carto leaks it will leak right on the hole where the drag sensor of an auto battery is. You can damage or kill auto batteries that way. I use manual 510.
