I am thinking of buying this kit, a friend recommended the mod and i saw fasttech has a package with the mod, a charger, 2 batteries and a tank. Money is a little tight and this is right in my budget range but I've been doing a lot of reading about how unsafe it is to use the 'wrong' batteries.

So my question is, are these batteries that come with it safe?

I would not purchase any batteries or charger from FastTech. This starter kit does identify the manufacturer of either battery or charger.

Only purchase batteries from a reputable company. There are far too many counterfeit batteries being sold.
* RTD Vapor
* Lighthound

As far as battery chargers, I hear that Xtar is one of the better brands. Nitecore also makes a good one.

The batteries and chargers that come in a mod starter kit assembled from China are almost always extremely poor quality batteries and chargers. They are generic batteries and not recommended. They are unknown batteries of unknown quality by an unknown manufacturer, and not worth the risk using in your mod. Never assume because they were included with your mod that they are safe or even the correct battery to use in the mod.

There are some things you can cheap out on but batteries and charger isn't one of them. I did buy a I4 looong time ago from fasttech and used it for a brief period then it was replaced with a LUC 2bay and the LUC been continuously charging my batts for the last 10 months and still going along with my Efest batts that some are rolling over a year old and still fire a coil mighty fine.
Your vape experience is directly connected to the gear your using so you can have a $200+ mech but with crap batts your experience will suffer.

thank you all for the speedy replies i will not be buying said kit. i am brand new to vaping, 3 weeks with my evod starter set so far and i really want to make the switch to mods and for the last 5 or so hours been doing a lot of research and the only concern i had was getting the right batteries and thank you so much for the links i will buy my batteries from RTD Vapor.

got a Vision Spinner the other day and went to my local shop today Aces of Vape and they set me up with my very first dripper ( which im loving lol ) don't remember the name of it lol i was so excited to just start vaping the last of my Octo from Gemini Vapors with it.

now im stuck if i want a mechanical or digital, im leaning more to the mechs cause im a star wars nerd and most of them look like lightsaber hilts lol.

May as well get a mech cause with your dripper your going to eventually try out some sub ohming and with a mech and some 30 or 35 amp batts you can have some great vapes. I'm just starting to appreciate a .6 ohm build against my regular 1.4 builds. With a few purple efests I'm finding a whole new avenue in vaping.
With a VV device your strapped before you even get out of the start gate with if your lucky 1.2 ohm cutoff.

got 1 sony protected cell battery
:unsure: Protected Sony? Which battery did you get. Sony VTC batteries are safe chemistry batteries which are not protected.
