Ive been going back and forth on getting one for a bit(either the ZAP or Cobra). I just cant decide if it is worth the hassle of having to wrap my own coils, oxidizing the mesh, rolling the wick, ect. So Im asking before sinking the money on one, is it REALLY that much better than a J tank(what is my current fav vape)?

Tough to answer this question. I'll just give you a few things to ponder. There is a large learning curve with genesis style atomizers. Not impossible to overcome, but still..... If you aren't the sort of person that wants and enjoys tinkering, then they may not be for you.

However, there are some cheaper alternatives to the higher end units you could dabble with to see if you want to go higher. I have a Chinese clone of both the DiD and Cobra RBAs and while the build quality and materials in no way rival the originals, the vape is still quite good.

Another RBA is on the scene that you should research,is made in the USA,is customizable and can be bought for about $100 is the Stratus by Vapor Works. Hand built : here is the ECF thread if interested : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-vapor-works-stratus-atomizer-order-form.html

If you want plug and vape, RBAs will be highly frustrating. It is really a matter of what you want.

Cash isnt something Im too worried about. Im all about spending money for better(provided of course I have it). I guess what Im actually asking is: is the quality THAT much better than what I use now?
RBA can technically save you a lot of cash in the long run too.

With tanks your buying and punching or buying pre-punched cartos.

Buy an RBA, some resistance wire and wick and your good to go for a long time.

There is no right answer for that one unfortunately.

Some people will claim the taste is dramatically better, others will claim it's about the same, and some will say they'd rather use something else. For me, the only thing lacking with say ... a Vivi Nova tank ... is just a slight dulling of flavor, mainly the sweet side of the flavor. Considering I don't like too much sweetness as an all day vape, I actually kind of prefer the dullness. But again, the dullness "to me" isn't a mind blowing difference.

Considering you're using a J tank ... I honestly doubt the difference will be mind blowing. But again, I could be wrong because we are all different. If you don't FEEL you need it, I'd probably just save my money for a rainy day or something else.

It's a tough one for sure because taste is so subjective.

EDIT: I will say though, I've yet to try mesh wick ... which is what many people claim makes it a much stronger vape. So the more I ponder this, the more I think I have no clue what I'm talking about. lol

Well ... gonna order some #500 mesh and an AGA-T rba tomorrow. Try it for myself.

Would have just bought the mesh for my Nova but I think the aga will look nice on the Vamo I have coming and OKCVape has it for $24.99.

Please let us know how you like it on the Vamo and maybe a picture if possible? Waiting on my Vamo as well and was considering a AGA-T as well. Thanks tc1
