Trustfire, Ultrafire, Tangfire, any thing with *fire in the name is not to be trusted, no one can find out where the cells are made or the circuit. They have proven themselves to be unreliable and prone to thermal catastrophes. The LAST place you want to skimp is the battery and charger, they are the heart of your system, good batts will last over a year and a good charger will shut off when the battery reaches 4.2V. I suggest going to RTD Vapor and getting good batts and charger, for a Vmod 2.0 I would recommend these batteries: Batteries : AW Protected 14500 and this charger: http://www.rtdvapor.com/online-store/battery-chargers/nitecore-intellicharger-i2-detail I've been using that charger for over a year now without any problems.

I agree with BarbicDruid. There is a huge difference in the quality of batteries.

Any battery made with "fire" in the name is a second-tier battery concerning battery quality. Early in my vaping experience I was using a protected Trustfire in a mechanical mod where the fire button became stuck in the on position, causing a rapid over-discharge of the battery. The protected circuit of the Trustfire and the hot spring failed to stop the battery from going into thermal runaway. Since then I have been using only AW IMR safe chemistry batteries in both my regulated and mechanical mods.

I recently asked the Provape team engineers why they were still offering the protected Trustfire batteries for their 14500 mechanical mod, the Provape-1. They responded that they had recently done battery tests and are now phasing out the Trustfires and now offering the AW 14500 IMR safe chemistry batteries for the Provape-1.
