Are they tip protectors or condoms?

At our recent Dallas area vape Blast, I wanted to taste test one of the vendors juices and I asked for condom.

The guy I asked turned to his right and said to his female associate, "See, everyone calls them condoms."

So, ECF, are they tip protectors, condoms or, if neither, what do you call them?

I call them the "tip cover thingy" or "drip tip cover." I just can't bring myself to ask some guy for a "condom."

Whatever they're called, I'm still "icked" out about sharing a drip tip, even just for tasting. I bring my own spare tip. Or, if it's in a CE4 or something "non-removable," I just respectfully pass. I'm a germ-phobe about these things, though, so YMMV.

Me too. the term "lip schmaltz" coined here, did it for me.

I've seen them on sites called "sanitary silicone tips" - which doesn't sound all that appealing either.

Thankfully never!! I don't know why I call them that but for some reason it has stuck with me and everyone I know. It is a bit of a misnomer though.

I frequent a local vape Lounge that offers a taste of their different liquids. When I want to taste a liquid in one of their samplers, they just ask me if I need a TIP. Calling it a TIP sounds normal to me as opposed to a Condom.

Well good grief! Here I thought it was just a generic term most often heard to describe its sexual use. Turns out its NOT. Its specifically sexual with no other meaning! I guess Webster hasn't caught up with vaping. I'm done using it... the term that is. Think I'll go with sheath.

I was actually introduced to the term when I bought a drink that had a straw in it. Covering top of the straw was a bit of paper left from the original wrapper and I was told by the waitress it was a "straw condom." Very funny to me and hopefully not too risque for those reading about such things here.

That is what they look like, that is how you handle them, and they serve .. uhm.. the same purpose
I don't know about English, but in German, a lot of vaping vocabulary is.. uhm.. ambiguous. To say the least.
And no, I will not give examples, or I will get a spanking from the Mods.

I hate when people call them condoms as well. In this community everyone that's been around awhile knows a condom is the rubber piece that comes on top of a cartomizer. Thus we all know the "condom fill method." The tip at vape shops is just that, a tip. I've also heard cootie tip and herpes guard but most just stick with tip.

lol never seen one of these so called condoms or tips or whatever. i am not a germaphobe so no worries i generally give my dog kisses all the time and sometimes she is fast and gets her quick little tongue in my mouth lol doesn't bother me.

I have never seen one neither and I prefer the word tip, not sure i feel comfortable asking for a tip condom...

One local shop here makes you use your own tip if you want to sample their juice. Sounds reasonable to me
