Are you colorblind? Do you know if the recharger is done?

Well, I may be all by myself, but when I recharge my batteries, I have to ask my wife if the light is green! I am red-green colorblind and most of my rechargers use red-green lights. Luckily for my KR808D-1 PV, the charger has red-blue lights and I can easily see blue. By the way, my doctor told me that only males can be colorblind.

Does anyone have this problem???

Wow that would be tricky!! Not color blind, and female so there you go...try charging them overnight then you'll be sure they are ready to go in the morning? I don't think there's an over-charge issue so even a good few hours ought to do it.

Thanks, that's kinda what I do when the wife's away. Seems like it would be easy for them to make the green light blink on the rechargers. Then there wouldn't be any doubt!

On another issue, I guess they figured out that traffic lights could be a problem for us, so the red light is very red and the green is almost white-green. No problem.

Women can be colorblind its just very very rare. I can't tell red-greens and have a hard time with certain other colors as well. And we have more color blind women in our family than we do men.

Red-green color blindness is a recessive gene that is attached to the X chromosome.
Women Can get it, but both of her parents would have to have the red-green color blind genes. She would need to inherent Two X's with the gene on it, if she gets One with the dominate(noncolor blind) it takes over so can see normally but she becomes a carrier (In other words thank you mom)
Men are more likely to get it as they only get the one X chromosome, no second chance with this one.

My best friend, son, grandfather and brother are all severely color-blind, can't see any colors at all, only shades. They can tell the difference when they have something to compare it to. Try plugging in a spare charger and see if the shade of the light matches?

I guess they need to move forward with the chargers and make them a 2 lighter...the light on the left is on while charging and the one on the right when fully charged....or make them more like a kitchen appliance...lol...yea I know what do kitchen appliances have to do with e-cigs....lol....the light stays off till fully charged (or for the kitchen...good and hot) Maybe it could blink to let you know it started and then goes out completely till the charge is complete.....

My chargers all have a blink to them while they are red and charging, but stay solid when they are green and finished. I have an eGo, a Riva, 2 multi-port 510 chargers, a single 510 charger, and an UltraFire charger, and they all do the same thing. Maybe that is the reason they do it?

Oh brother do I feel your pain

When I first started vape'ing, I started with a 510 and those silly little thumb chargers with just that one little light drove me nuts. I had to charge it with that for a while, and then (if my wife wasn't around) I would stick the battery in my pcc to check it. The pcc has 3 different lights, so it was easier to tell if it was fully charged.

Now the good news (maybe). I have a couple of 510 thumb chargers that actually have two lights in them. While it's charging a blue light flashes on and off and the closer the battery is to being fully charged, the faster the blinking. And then it turns red and stays red.

I've been wanting to list them as "colorblind friendly" but thought that I was the only one. guess not

I haven't ordered from that same company in a while , but have been anxious to find out if they still carry them.

My doctor told me the same thing many years ago, that women aren't colorblind. Several ladies seem to have corrected that wives tale.

But if anyone else is reading this thread and really needs to be able to see the 510 charging, know that their are chargers out there that are easier to see.

Greyrat, I have the same problem with the red/green. Someone told me to put a samll piece of red glass over the light and when the green comes on the green disappears, but that doesn't work just makes everything tinted red! I did finally notice that the red seems to be in the center and the green is slightly off to the side. To make sure I just charge the old 510's about an hour, the eGo 650mah and 1000 about 3 hours and I am safe.

Wouldn't that alter one colored light, but not the other?

Would a multimeter help? Or do any of the modders know how to connect a sound indicator to the green LED so when the fully charge LED comes on you'll hear beeping.

Hey, sorry you share my problem, but its good to know I'm not the only one.

You'd have at least one customer if listed some "colorblind friendly" chargers

Depending on what you are using, I know most Ego chargers start blinking back and forth when it is near done charging, and will go back to solid when it is finished. That could be an indicator if you catch it going back and forth. If you happen to be using a 510 you could pick up Volcanos PCC that has a charge meter on a little screen on the front.

<-- RG colorblind, although I prefer color deficient, since we can see both red and green ... just not the subtleties which people with normal color vision can see. I think it is not a coincidence that blue is my favorite color. To me, blue is the most vivid of colors, while red is a bland color. When I see a red rose bush, I'm pretty much unaware of the blossoms until I'm near enough to clearly see the FORM of them. It just doesn't jump out at me like it apparently does for most people.

My KR808 chargers use the darned red/green bicolor LEDs and other than light intensity I can't tell them apart. The red seems more luminous. R/G bicolor LEDs are virtually useless to me. I should say, they're about as useful to me as a single color power indicator LED would be.

Statistically, 8-10% of men have some degree of color deficiency, while 0.5% of women do ... 20X more common in men. But, not exceedingly rare in women. I don't have the stats, but I've always heard that total color blindness, or monochromacy, is very rare.
