My very first car was a 1959 Rambler that my grandpa gave me when I turned 16 back in 1997. It belonged to my great-grandfather. Never did drive it though. Still have it. Sitting on blocks at my mom's house. Tried to fire it up after 10+ years of being stored. Ignition didn't start it, but shorting it out on the starter got it to turn over. Guess it could run after all....

Hey you should work on getting that thing going. How is the body, floor boards solid?

Body is straight, floordboards aren't so great. This model had an "intake" at the bottom of the windshield which provided fresh air for the a/c and heater. Only problem was, the air went into a collector box under the dash where it was pushed out through the vents. This also allowed anything else that could fit through the lil mesh to get into the car too. Mainly rainwater. With the collector box not being waterproof, well, you can see where I'm going from here...

My only concern is it being tagged. Last time it was tagged was in 1995. I've called the tag agency and they say there's no way around it, I'll have to pay all the back tags to 95. It would cost more to get the registration up to date then would make it worth it to anybody. So, all I have is a parts car that nobody else needs since there are not enough left....

*P.S.* I have a 14 year old picture of it on my website from when I got it when I was 16 (I think it was a year later when I was 17 actually). I look kinda goofy, I was a 90's skater wannabe. But the car sure was pretty back then. Now the paint's getting down the primer, the interior is moldy due to the water problem...it's a sad sad story...
