I'm pretty new at this but I've found that I prefer a warmer vape for "tobacco" flavors and a cooler vape for mint or fruit flavors. That's why I fill two types of cartos when I go out: LR for Tribeca or Torque and standard resistance for Kringle.

Does preferring a cool or warm vape have anything to do with what flavor you're vaping? I vape menthol and fruit flavors and prefer a cool vape. Maybe if you vape tobacco or bakery flavors, they do better with a warm vape? Just askin...

PS: I second Orb's koolada recommendation. It's my #1 additive. When you want a cool flavor but don't want the menthol taste, koolada is the way to go.

I'm thinking you're on to something. I don't like tobacco, pastry, coffee, etc. flavors so I've never pursued the optimum vape for any of those. Maybe if I lived up north again I'd change my mind?
