I'm on 18 now, and am paying no attention to nic intake, during the day it seems I've become a regular vaper at around 3-5ml/day. My next order will 12mg, etc etc. It's still early to say, but I think I'm over analogues. Now it's a matter of finding flavours I really, REALLY love, and sticking to those while dropping nicotine content. I'll keep the nic+ stuff I don't use, since I'd rather that then fall back on an analogue in a moment of weakness.

Somebody missed feeding time, forums eat my posts sometimes.

I'm really very sorry about your Son and I hope and pray his recovery is quick and complete. I tell converts not to worry about the future in regards to vaping as it's supposed to be stress free and enjoyable. Needless to say you have enough stress in your life and it looks like you're going about it in the right way. I smoked VERY strong analogs 1 PAD for 44 yrs. I don't drink, only have 25% sense of taste and smell so I LOVED/ worshiped my stinkies. Although I don't own a Volt I recommend it all the time. A solid PV and amazing customer service. After you get your Volt get a freebie here:

Good luck to all those trying to stop nicotine and the hand to mouth habit....as I tell my son ( and myself) as long as your trying your not failing.
LOL my Dad always told me "you're only a failure if you don't try"
Cheers and the Best of Luck to you and your family.

Also planning on eventually quitting vaping. I began on 36 mg and am now at 8 mg. Evenings I vape 6 mg with some menthol added. Five months ago I began going out on short trips without my PV- maybe 1/2- 1 hr. I now sometimes go 3- 4 hrs without and it really isn't as big a deal as I thought it would be. My game plan is to be vape free Sept. 2012 BUT if it doesn't happen no big deal.

Congrats on coming down so much Vapoor Eyes. sounds like you have a good plan worked out for yourself.

I to plan to at least be zero nic. i just started vaping 16 days ago i am currently using 14mg because thats what this particular ecig had to offer that i thought would work, i also ordered some 1.0 but am finding that one is a little to week right now.
I am waiting on my Volt and carts i ordered a 12 in everything this time because the 14 seems to give me a bit of a headache after 8-10 hits.

I figure i will give myself at least 3 months of vaping at a 12 then move down to next lowest and just keep doing that till i can handle a zero. But since I am new I am giving myself a year ( hopefully it won't take that long)

Ultimately i would like to NOT be vaping at all but since i smoked for 37 years I do not know if that is realistic in my life ( there is alot of stress from a son who has a traumatic brain injury from an accident 4 years ago) but I keep telling myself if he can relearn everything about life I can learn to let go of the habit (in any form).

Good luck to all those trying to stop nicotine and the hand to mouth habit....as I tell my son ( and myself) as long as your trying your not failing.

I've been vaping less than a week. Started on 24 cos thats what the starter pack I bought came with and am now vaping 18. I tend to vape more in the evenings after the kids are in bed - because I enjoy it, not because I need to. But I'm noticing that I'm getting a bit of a headache so I'm thinking about getting some really low nic carts (or even 0) just for that evening vape.

That WAS sort of vague.
:)

Who, me? Yeah, probably :) I hope to eventually lower my nic but i'm not too worried about that yet. Just aware of the headache that I'm putting down to too much nic at certain times. To me the big benefits of vaping is improved health and less financial strain. I can handle a little nicotine addiction. At least for now.

Nope, I don't monitor my nic intake, I have gone from 24 to 18 to 12 mg. I started direct dripping and noticed that it satisfies more than the ego-c and I am no longer chain vaping. I used to go through 3-4 ml a day, now I go through 1ml, sometimes 2 ml if it is my day off and I am bored. I imagine when my kids drive to their dads I will be back to chain vaping until they call and tell me they are there safely, it was during those times that I would chain smoke when on the analogs, went through 3 packs in 12 hours.

Luckily it's easier for me to watch my nicotine level because I still use prefilled cartomizers for the KR808D-1s and D-2s. If the sites are right, and each cartomizer is about 1.5 packs of cigarettes (I think it's more like .75 to 1 pack), then my nicotine intake is higher than it was when I smoked cigarettes. I was a half a pack to .75 a pack a day smoker with regs. Now, I go through a cartomizer and a half a day. 1.5 cartos. I think I'm going to regulate it more.

I know part of it is because with regs I had to go outside to smoke. And, since I don't want to go all the way downstairs just to smoke, I would curb my crazing. Now, I vape anywhere at anytime.

Yep, a little more regulating is needed on my part.

I started vaping a month ago and stopped smoking the same time almost immediately (I was absolutely amazed how easy it was). I’ve got some 18mg in my starter kit and was very happy with it vaping at home. But at work I still vape outdoors and with 18mg it takes too long for me in order to get satisfied, too long for a break at work. So I started to use 36mg at work. I fill the difference a lot; actually I like 36mg more. But I still vape 18mg at home, 36mg seems to be too strong for me for constant use. It’s unlikely that I ever want to go less than 18mg, I would rather vape less.

I have thought about the nicotine level when I first started at 24mg and i was grabbing device constantly, 2 packs of Newport a day will do that to you. Went to 36mg and now it has been 4 weeks and I am comfortably back at 24mg. I know I will be at a high level like this for a while and it will probably be a good 6 months before I start going down any more. I took the first step and stopped the analogs, that is enough for right now. I am enjoying this vaping actually more than smoking and I can breath again. In a good place right now.

If the sites are right, and each cartomizer is about 1.5 packs of cigarettes
The site isn't right, and there is no way a cartomizer is equal to 1.5 packs of cigarettes.
More like 8 cigarettes maybe.

I am pretty sure that the vendor you buy those from would not even be allowed to register here.
ECF does not take vendors that make false or misleading claims.
