Yay! It was finally in the paper today, Mace and I are famous! Well, not really but maybe just in NW Arkansas. Tracy did a pretty good job on this article and spent ALOT of time researching it. She interviewed Mace and I about a month ago and asked all the good questions. I'm proud of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette for giving her so much space in which to cover most aspects of this phenomenon. I have to read it again but at first read I would say I wish not as much space had been given to Christine Sheffer's comments. By doing so however, she gets ample opportunity to misquote the facts, for example when speaking of cessation medications she says they have been proved to work better alongside counseling-"I want them to use something that I know is going to have positve outcomes". I guess she considers suicide when using Chantix a positive outcome!
I would love to reprint Tracy's whole story here but I bet there would be copyright problems with that, so I urge everyone with an interest to click on the above link and subscribe so you can read the whole story. Thank you Tracy and the Dem Gazette for futhering public education on this subject, and Mace- You look just like your avatar! : )

I commented without reading the rest of the story.

I’m not affiliated with any E Cigarette suppliers; however, I am an E Cigarette consumer. Thanks to E Cigarettes, I have been smoke free since December 6, 2009. I smoked two packs a day for 40 years. My health (particularly my ability to breathe) has been improving ever since. When it comes to smoking, there is no panacea miracle cure. Some people quit cold turkey, some people quit using FDA approved cessation products (with or without counseling), many don’t quit. Smoking (nicotine addiction) is a complex phenomenon involving more than just the nicotine. Studies have shown that the addiction includes the mannerisms of smoking. To think that everyone will conveniently fall into one of the FDA approved methods of cessation is ludicrous if not arrogant! E Cigarettes eliminate the preponderance of the harm associated with smoking; the smoke. Nicotine in and of itself (in low doses such as used in E Cigarettes) has never been shown to pose significant health risks; certainly no more than junk food, alcohol, caffeine, etc. If you choose to quit smoking and an FDA approved route works; great! E Cigarettes are MY solution and are proving to be the solution for MANY nicotine addicted smokers who can not or choose not to give up nicotine but prefer not to inhale smoke to get it. You would think health care professionals would embrace this solution across-the-board; especially considering the low success rate of FDA approved cessation methods.

Thanks Mace & Dee; I'm confident you both did a great job representing our side!

EZMoose, I have to ask how it is that you were able to even find this story all the way up there in Alaska?

Well geeZ JJ2! Whats different is that it's got me and Mace in it! Hello? : )
In addition to that she did a great job of presenting alot of FDA stuff, there's a few quotes from Matt Salmon, she talks about the political aspects of the issue, just a huge amount of info. She even mentions this site and another one as a place to get information. It's actually two separate articles in different sections of the paper. Oh! And it was on the front page, not stuck in the back somewhere. I'll have to ask her if I can just copy and paste it here.
