The aro is one of my favorite tanks. The coils last longer than the evod, and they are easy to dryburn and replace the flavor wicks. You can do this 5-7 times before you need to discard the coil. Great flavor and vapor, even better after rewicking with 2mm flavor wicks. Negative was this winter when I went outside in cold weather they did not work well, and sometimes leaked(flooded).
I had several of the original plastic evods which were great for awhile, but then had problems with all of them, mostly the tip cracking or breaking. The coils did not last very long, and I liked a larger tank for liquid. I know the evod is very popular, so my experience with them may not be typical. Different strokes I guess. They are both inexpensive, so why not get one of each and decide for yourself?:2c:

I just got some Aro (pyrex) tanks. My EVODs aren't pyrex, but jury's still out on which one I like better. The one thing I was a little surprised by was that my Kanger coils that I've been using in my EVODs won't fit the Aro. Seems like there's a bit of a flange on the Kanger coil that won't seat right when I try to attach the base to the tank. I haven't tried an Aro coil in my EVODs (wondering if they'll leak now.) Of the four Aros, it almost seems like one is giving me a funky aftertaste, but in general not displeased with the Aros. (Stock coils were 1.8 ohms, so I have to make sure my volts/watts are pretty low - generally run 2.2 or 2.5 on my EVODs.)

Take the silicone cap off just as a test; it may be the vertical dimension is taller on the ones you got with the evod.

It's just the atomizer head you tried right? not the whole base and atomizer head?

Let me check that out - of course I JUST loaded up my one empty Aro BEFORE I read this :D Yes, just the atty, not the base which seals their respective tanks. I have a bunch of 2.2/2.5 coils, and I wanted to pop out the 1.8 that came with the tank. That's when I noticed I couldn't reseat the base to close it up (FORTUNATELY, at that time I hadn't loaded with any juice yet!)

I cleaned out one of my Aros to check the Kanger v. Aro heads. There *IS* a slight difference - the Kangers have a larger flange where the stem covers the coil/wick. I pulled the head from one of my EVODs and tried dropping it into the shaft of the tank. It gets hung up on the lip of the glass interior where the Aro coil doesn't. Ergo, I will need to hook myself up with some Smok coils. Not the end of the world - can always use more coils :D

Have you tried Kanger T3 coils? I've used those in Tumblers with success. One shop in town calls them "universal coils" saying they'll fit in quite a few things that evod and pt coils dont fit. I don't have an Aro but was looing into maybe trying one, esp if they fit coils I already have.

I am really hating this coil collection thing. Even rebuilding doesn't help that.

Yes; the slightly different dimensions are a definite problem where 2 coil heads look the same at first glance, but one fits and the other doesn't and the one that fits both tanks is a little smaller - which is why it can fit in both - but in one tank, because of the extra space, it ends up gurgling.

For me right now, another difference I've noticed is the airhole down the middle of the bottom center pin; some of the head I have, have a larger center hole, while others are small and for me cause an unnecessarily tight draw; between all the different pieces I have, I'm going to end up having to isolate the right sizes that I prefer and keep them separate from the pieces I don't prefer; some of my spires are also tight and difficult while others are pretty loose- I guess I could fix that with a pliers if necessary; then I got an earlier batch with the harder opague rubber grommet and newer ones where the grommet seems to be a soft silicone thing;

Oh well; I suppose I'll use the variety to an advantage; I already discovered I could use the rubber grommet from on of the head to repair a center pin problem on my vamo, and having a variety of those grommets available is advantageous for that.
