So I got my ARO's in the mail today (one for me and one for the wife). We both agree that the ARO is equal to or better in VTF than the EVOD. Really we both find the Flavor and TH to be slightly more than the EVOD but noticeably more vapor production.

The ARO is pyrex which means we can use it for our "cinnamon red hot" flavor juice that would have melted our EVOD which is a definite plus. Unlike the ProTank and PT mini (which are also glass) the ARO has a protective aluminum shell with window slits much like the EVOD. This should help protect the glass in case of a drop. Other ECF members have reported that this is in fact the case.

Looks and size wise, the ARO is slightly wider in diameter (maybe 1mm) and about 1/2 inch taller than the EVOD. This also gives the ARO a bit more capacity than the EVOD. The ARO has a shiny finish in all colors instead of the matte rubbery finish of the EVOD as well as a metal tip over the EVOD's clear plastic tip. The drip tip is not removable on either the ARO or the EVOD. One thing I definitely prefer about the EVOD is the way the end of the tip is a bit more rounded instead of cut off flat like the ARO. It just feels better as I pull it out of my mouth. Still not a deal breaker though. I also think that the EVOD is a bot easier to fill without using a needle tip bottle. Not to say the ARO is difficult to fill, just not quite as easy due to an inner lip of the tank.

Now for interchangeability. The first thing I tried was swapping just the bases to see if they would work. As I suspected due to the different diameters the bases are NOT interchangeable. Next I tried swapping the heads. While one ECF member has reported that the old style EVOD heads would work with the ARO, that was not the case in my attempt. The EVOD head has a slightly wider collar just below the wick that will not fit past the inner lip of the ARO tank. It might be possible to grind this down a bit and get it to work if I had to. On the other hand, the ARO head worked perfectly in my EVOD. I was able to screw the ARO head into the EVOD base and then into the EVOD tank with zero issues, and vaped on it for a bit with no leaking or gurgling issues.

In summary, if you want an EVOD style device that is safe for ALL juices, then look no further than the ARO. If you like the EVOD style Clearo but want more capacity, then the ARO is a good choice. If you know you will NEVER use a "tank cracker" juice and want a smaller form factor then stick with the EVOD. If you do go with the ARO and also have EVOD's it looks like you can just buy ARO heads and use them in both.

I got the wife one of these for her red hot juice. As soon as we got it we tried the kanger protank coil and it works great. The ProTank coil is the one with the longer center tube. She's been using it for several days with no problems..

I have read several reports that the Protank heads did not work with the Aro. Are you sure it's seated properly?

I have 5 and use them religiously :). Been using them more than my pro tanks lately. I love them! Can find around replacement coils @ discountvapers.com and cheap ;)

I have 5 also and they are my "go to" tank now.
Great TH and flavor. Even the coils seem to work better than the Kangers. I love the ARO's! :2cool: JD
