Information is much appreciated, a few comments on this.
“These vape salesmen are telling people it’s healthy for you, it’s not as bad as cigarettes and it can help you beat your cigarette habit,” Zoeller says. “None of those things are really legal to say because they haven’t been proven.”
I highly doubt "
vape salesmen" are telling people that
vaping is "healthy for you". If they are, they are idiots and you would be even dumber to believe it. Lets just assume this is true, who are these salesman? Wouldn't it be a good idea to provide people with that information?
One of the cartridges contained a small amount of diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze.
The tests also found that the cartridges contained different nicotine levels than what was indicated on the labels.
That's 1 out of how many? Shall we list the chemicals in cigarettes? And they are perfectly legal. Once again, if this is true wouldn't it be a good idea to provide which cartridge contained said chemical as well as which contained incorrect nic levels since it was "tested" ?
And, requiring licensing is a measure they support.
Zoeller also wants legislators to consider taxing electronic cigarettes similarly to traditional cigarettes.
Ah yes, they want a piece of the pie. What a surprise....
Another controversial aspect of the bill – including e-cigarettes in the statewide smoking ban.
Cities like Indianapolis have already banned the devices from public places in their smoke-free ordinances.
It's not smoke, they might want to go back to doing their "research"
One positive note, I did see that the article seemed to give both sides of the argument. Which is a plus, good for IPM.
I love the immediate push to "regulation" and "taxation" There aren't enough taxes already? Look at the bang up job that is done with that money....JMO
