Fake cigarettes 'are potentially lethal to children'

But trading standards officers say they contain up to 18mg of liquid nicotine in refill cartridges which could prove fatal to young children if swallowed.

A dose of 10mg is understood to be lethal for children under 10.

What about analogs? If an analog contains 800mg of tobacco, and it contains only 3% nicotine, that's up to 24mg nicotine in a single analog!

What's easier to eat, a soft analog, or a plastic cylinder?

Well, it's very obvious that truth and reason play no part in this struggle. I just don't understand why there is so much disinformation and resistance to the one thing that might help me live longer. I know that their party is in power now and has apparently let loose the dogs of war. But I was not prepared for the struggle that is now playing out.

We will have to change the way we are addressing this issue if we hope to win. We are out gunned and out numbered. They apparently have a plan and are executing it very well. Who knows what their real motive is, that may or may not ever be revealed. Right now the problem we face is very real. We need a working counter measure.

I just went to the ASH website, and sent a little email to the CONTACT US email address.
It was addressed to webmaster@whatever.whatever.whatever.

Anyway, I used the F word about 17 times.
I called them Aholes about 13 times.

I suggested they were trying to kill me.
I told them I would fight them until my last dying breath.

Then I suggested that they kindly forward my email to that Banzhoff dude.
Or whatever his name is.

I don't really care what happens to my email.
But I know one thing, it can't make things worse.

But maybe it will strike a chord with the webmaster.
It made me feel a lot better anyway, and that is worth the price of admission.

Outstanding, as here is my reply from them...

Thank you for taking the time to send your comment or suggestion concerning the ASH Internet Website to the ASH webmaster.

However, the new address for persons who are NOT members of ASH is ashwebmaster@ash.org

All comments sent to the ASH webmaster are very carefully read and evaluated.

As the ASH web site -- already the most popular antismoking web site on the Internet -- is constantly being revised and improved, we cannot always act immediately on every suggestion received, no matter how meritorious.

MOREOVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LARGE VOLUME OF COMMENTS THE ASH WEBSITE RECEIVES EVERY SINGLE DAY MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE WEBMASTER TO PROVIDE AN INDIVIDUALIZED RESPONSE.

Also, this e-mail address is designed ONLY to receive comments and suggestions concerning the ASH Internet web site -- AND NOTHING ELSE.

IF YOU HAVE INCLUDED A MESSAGE OF ANY OTHER KIND, WE REGRET THAT IT CANNOT BE ACTED UPON OR EVEN FORWARDED TO THE MAIN OFFICE OF ASH FROM THIS E-MAIL LOCATION.

TO CONTACT ASH DIRECTLY:

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH)
2013 H Street, NW
Washington, DC 20006
(202) 659-4310

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT, DUE TO LARGE NUMBER OF CALLS AND LETTERS RECEIVED EVERY DAY, ASH GENERALLY CANNOT PROVIDE INDIVIDUALIZED RESPONSES.

THIS POLICY HELPS TO INSURE THAT YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION WILL BE USED IN THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY - TO FIGHT SMOKING AND TO PROTECT NONSMOKERS - RATHER THAN TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALIZED ANSWERS TO THE MANY QUESTIONS PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT SMOKING.

ALL OF THE INFORMATION ASH HAS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS AVAILABLE ON ITS INTERNET WEB SITE -- http://ash.org -- AND READERS ARE ASKED TO FIND WHAT BEST SUITS THEIR NEEDS BY USING THE VARIOUS SEARCH TOOLS PROVIDED. THESE SEARCH TOOLS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING ENHANCED AND IMPROVED.

If you have joined ASH by sending credit card information to us online, please note that it may take as much as ONE COMPLETE BUSINESS DAY for ASH to process the information and Email you the password necessary to access restricted portions of ASH's web site.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding.

Well Kevin, now you have your blinders off and can see the real issue in the fight. These groups do not believe in harm reduction via smoking anything. It's quit or die. If there is no such thing as a safer cigarette...that would include the e-cigarette. I really hope that the e-cig will be the very first product in the "harm reduction" theory to beat the current mind-set out there. I fear the emphasis on preventative health problems via lifestyle choice will render the point moot. 8-o

And one positive is that until now, the tobacco harm reduction camp has not had a product that smokers could actually get behind and help move the message forward.

Here is a blatant example of ASH's attitude toward smokers and now, of course, to vapers.
It's called, "They'll Just Have to Die"
FORCES Multimedia Portal

Here is a transcript with that radio interview with that ..... Jane DeVille-Almond:

DeVille:- I’ll just tell you a very short story. We recently had a guy who’d had one heart operation and he continued to smoke and he went in for and had a second heart operation, which I actually think should not have been allowed.

Interviewer:- hmmm

DeVille:- because he wasn’t making a commitment to his own health and was just relying on surgeons and people... (interrupted)

Interviewer:- should he have paid for it?

DeVille:- He should have paid for it

Interviewer:- but that would have cost thousands and thousands of pounds-how can you expect an ordinary sort of person to pay that sort of money?

DeVille:- Well then I’m afraid if he can’t commit, if you’re going to have an operation, you know, it’s a bit like people....(interrupted)

Interviewer:- but then what? If he can’t afford it? What?

DeVille:- Well then, then they'll just have to die!

Nice. This is the mentality of the people we are facing, folks.

Sadly none of the problems with ASH is about health....it's all about winning and loosing, if smokers have found an alternative to smoking, it makes these people feel as if they have 'lost' the battle against smokers. They will fight against vaping even more than they fight against tobacco.

Yep...you have nailed it!!8-o

Yup, you pretty much summed it up. How dare we "look" like we're smoking while we enjoy our nicotine.
