Hello all!

I'm posting this to ask for prayer. I'm having total knee replacement surgery on Dec 7th, and I have a few concerns. First, I'll give a little background about my knee.

I've been an amputee since the age of 3, due to cancer. My other leg has been the "strong" and weight-bearing leg for the last 43 years, and my knee is completely degraded. I have no cartilage between the bones at all, and I have numerous bone spurs throughout my entire knee joint.

6 years ago (to prevent knee replacement at too young an age) I had an osteotomy--which is a surgical realignment of the leg bones to take pressure off the "bare spots" in the knee joint. A portion of the top of the leg bones connected to the knee are removed to accomplish this. Unfortunately, the orthopedic doctor who did the surgery just butchered my knee. After a recent MRI, CT scan, and x-rays of my knee, the extent of the damage was discovered.

I also recently discovered that the doctor had been diciplined by the AMA, and his surgical privileges had been revoked by the area hospitals. (I wish this would have happened before he did surgery on me!! And who knows how many others he's damaged!)

Thankfully, the ortho Doctor I'm seeing now is an excellent Doctor, who is highly recommended. I've actually talked to some of his patients, and they hold him in high regard. I even have a family member who is a patient of his, and thinks highly of this Doctor as well.

My prayer request is this: Please pray that the damage done by the other doctor won't be too extensive for this Doctor to repair it.

I've had 30 surgeries in my lifetime, (10 of those in the last 11 years), so you could say I'm a professional patient! I'm fully aware of the risks, and limitations of what surgery can accomplish.

But, more importantly, I also know what prayer can do!! Amen!!

So, there you have it. I would greatly appreciate your prayers!
Thank you, and God Bless!!

Saying one for you now Trunk...hope it goes well & recoupe time is quick..its amazing what they can do these days on recovery time!!!!

Yes, it sure is amazing what they can do these days. Most people do really well. My mom wasn't so fortunate, she developed a post-op infection and had to have it done again. Probably because she had an allergic reaction to the cement or something like that, but most do really really well.

You're going to be fine Truckinlady!!! Jesus will be looking after you! :)

Truckin, may this time of difficulty draw you even deeper into the kingdom of God and may he breathe his blessings upon both you body and spirit.

I have seem him do miraculous works in my mother, she is a living testament to the power of God, prayer and skilled doctors. Through prayer and the strength of God she has overcome cancer twice, 2 strokes, several heart attacks, open heart surgery and a brain tumor. She continues to serve with her hands and has taught me much about the grace of God and giving to others.

Gods greatest blessings be bestowed upon you and those that surround you ~ Lanette

Dear Holy Almighty Father, the One who Reigns forever. I come to you humbly in the Powerful Name of Jesus, the Name that makes demons tremble. We wish to uplift a child of Yours, for special consideration, as she has been down this surgical road many times, but the last man medically abused her knee....the knee she depends on, Lord. I can tell she's in tremendous pain, and I know You have Your mighty arm around her, standing by her side every moment. She walks by choice freely with You, Lord, as You are her Knight in Shining Armor, and she loves You with every fiber of her being. Lord, we ask that You perform this surgery, alieviating all room for error. We're asking that You build her a new knee, somehow, and if it can be done, I know You will do it for this precious lamb. Lord, I ask that she be mobile before Christmas so that she can share the wonderful festive fellowship of her family. Leave her not alone for a second, Lord. Heal her pain and help this new knee to work better than before. Ease her apprehension. Hear her praises of You. You are her Hero. Thank You, Lord for what You are going to do for our sister. In Jesus' Name, Amein.

I wish I could take credit for the prayer, but I cannot. I asked God to help me say what He wanted. Once again, it sort of took a different direction than what I normally do. So, I prayed differently than I normally do. So ALL the Praise, Honor, and Glory are the Lord's. Hang in there, Tru.....sit back and watch what your God can do! AND, I expect Him to answer what I asked. Jesus told us how to pray, and even though it isn't scripted, it came from the Heart of God.....or at least I hope it did.

Tru, you are my hero! Girl, I don't know how you've dealt with everything so gracefully.....yes I do.....your love of the Lord....and He knows that too. He can manifest Himself better in someone who is weak, than one who is already strong. You are a mighty example to the rest of us...or to me, at least. I can't speak for everyone, but like I said, you blow me away with your faith.

I understand pain. I understand knee pain. Most of my pain is internal, not mental like SG is thinking..... (SG, you're such a good guy....you take what we dish out and throw it back at us......LOVE IT!) But anyway, Tru, it's going to be a-okay....to what degree, I haven't a clue. But, I think it was the butler in the library with a candlestick!

Thank you, Lanette!! God Bless you!!

Praise God for His works in your mother's life!! God is Great!! I'm so humbled when I hear of others' struggles with their health. I'm inspired by their faith. It makes my own struggles seem insignificant. By the Grace of God, I've survived cancer 3 times. During my treatments, I had 2 family members, and a close friend pass away from cancer. I don't know why I was spared. But I do believe God has a reason for it.

God Bless you all for your prayers! May His Blessings pour out upon you for your love and thoughtful generosity!! Amen!

Saints, thank you again for your encouragement!!

This verse came to mind while I was reading your post:
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth." (NKJV)

I have to say that for several years, my faith took a beating. Especially after my ovarian cancer diagnosis. I am SO thankful that He never gave up on me!!!! Even when I was angry with Him. (I came to finally understand why things happened the way they did, but I'll save that for another thread. :))

He brought me through trials by fire. My faith in Him is much stronger because of it. Amen!

As far as the surgery, this is the only surgery I've ever looked forward to!! I'm eager to do the things I used to do! For one reason or another, I've put this surgery off far too long. (BTW, they allow vaping in this hospital!)

Thank you again, Saints!

P.S. And here all this time I thought it was Colonel Mustard!

Adversity breeds faith. Humanly thinking, it shouldn't. But I find that in itself is so fascinating. From one who knows, I completely understand. If I could do this all over again, would I rather have the faith that grows, or be content and healthy. It really doesn't make sense, but I would rather be right where I am. We both know it isn't fun....pain gets on your nerves......that's what Xanax is for! Seriously, I wouldn't change anything EXCEPT not putting on these last 10 pounds. But other than THAT, I would rather have this closeness to Jesus and be disabled, than not. It's another one of those oxymorons. Now girl, in Heaven, you and I are going to run our legs off! OH, and my secret desire, which won't be secret anymore, is to fly through the rings of Saturn. I have no clue why, except that I've always loved the beauty of Saturn and fascinated with the rings. Oh yeah.....I'm gonna fly! Oh, and one other desire of mine is to learn to play the harp. Yep, I'm one of those who would love sitting on a cloud, playing a brilliantly toned harp. Who knows.....maybe King David will give me lessons! :p
