CLICK HERE FOR PHOTO TUTORIAL -----> Aspire Atlantis Horizontal Coil Rebuild - Imgur
I tried to re-wick my Atlantis today. In the process, one of the welds where the factory coil's resistance and no-resistance are joined broke.
I was about to trash the coil head when I realized the above method could work. I gave it a try and, hot damn, it does!
Even with double the resistance of the factory 0.5 Ω coil, it's producing 80-90% of the vapor on a mech mod. Oddly, the vapor is slightly warmer than a stock 0.5Ω vertical coil and the flavor is boosted slightly.
Hope you enjoy.
**EDITED TO ADD*** I built another head using a 26ga 6/5 wrap instead of the 26ga 5/4 wrap in the tutorial. It metered at 1.17 Ω. It's producing phenomenal flavor and vapor at 20 watts (4.4 volts) on my eleaf istick. It looks a bit wonky atop the iStick, but I can't argue with the performance.
Dammit. Now I need a high-wattage regulated box mod for this build.
