Aspire Atlantis Info

I recently read a review on the aspire atlantis clearomizer. It was all good until the reviewer said that aspire does not reveal the product used in their replacement coils. By this meaning the material used as the wick in their clearomizer. Does anyone know what they use ? Because I don't think any of us want to go on vaping on this thing without knowing the consequences to our health.

Hi Gaentorossi, you can use the search feature to veiw many threads here on the forum which will address any questions concerning the Nauty and replacement coils.
I ave 2 myself and now use them with my own rebuids using organic cotton until they switch to cotton in the very near future if not already available as with the Atlantic coil heads.

Not every site carries them yet but the organic cotton coils have been released! I got a pack of 'em on the way.

I'd be interested in grabbing some of those coils, would you be kind enough to share where you bought them by posting a link to the site.

Thanks Demiurgous, for posting the link.

How do these new cotton heads perform compared with the older ceramic type.?

My own rebuilds had better flavor but couldn't handle the higher wattage like the Aspire originals. Some say that cotton is not such an efficient material due to the vertical coils construction using a fairly small area of 26 gauge resistance wire and nr wire on either side ie, it gets really hot in a small area and at higher power it can burn the wicking material pretty quickly.

If the new Atlantis coils are failing at say 25-30 watts and burning the cotton, then I would rather continue building my own horizontal coils with a larger wicking area.

My coils arrive in a few days, and I can report back then. Until then, I've heard good things on the board here about them.

That would be cool. There were some threads on the Atlantis and coils started a few weeks back but they are still active. I personally think we will get more problems with the new heads due to the coil design. Should be ok at lower watts though.

The Eleaf Melo coils fit the Atlantis But if you go that route might as well buy the Melo same tank as the Atlantis but half the price. sweet-vapes has them for $19.99

I believe the wire they use is a very low resistance wire so they can use more winds and still get .5 ohms. Of greater concern is the ceramic material they use for the wick. I have an Atlantis and a SubTank Mini, love them both, but I think I'd go with the SubTank Mini, they use cotton wicks, and the coils are much easier to rebuild. Now if your really in to rebuilding, why not consider the Goblin RTA?

Having taken apart many Atlantis coil heads to rebuild them, the resistance wire is a small area (4 turns) and non-resistance wire forms the larger part of the coil and legs. Certainly this results in the .5 ohm coils but also meqns the wicking material only is exposed to a too small area of very hot coil, resulting in poor flavor and occasional burnt cotton,

I rebuild horizontal coils with nickel wire legs (nr-r-nr) but make the resistance area larger resulting in better flavor and no burning cotton. Slightly higher ohms though but a better vape IMO.
