Aspire Atlantis - Issues getting glass off?

Hey guys,
I've had my Atlantis + sub ohm battery for a week now and I'm attempting to clean it out but i'm running into an issue with taking the glass tank part off of the top half. If tried to pull very hard and i'm afraid if i put anymore pressure than i am it will literally crack into my hand as i'm pulling it

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yep, it is a total pain in the rear to remove. I already broke one glass tank trying to remove it. Aspire is aware of the issue and is looking at modifying the upper hardware so it will be easier in future models.

BUT, if you absolutely have to remove the glass tank, the difficulty lies in getting a good grip on the upper hardware while rocking/twisting the glass tank off. I found that a long bolt, a big washer, and nut helps (see attached pictures). I had the parts lying around in my miscellaneous nut/bolt/washer tub. But I'm sure you can get some at a local hardware store. You only need to finger tighten the nut.

When trying to rock the glass off, you have to be REALLY CAREFUL as to not squeeze the glass to much with your other hand. Try to grasp the glass as close to the upper hardware as possible, to help prevent deformation of the glass tube and breaking it.

Once you get the tank off, if you want to make it easier in the future to remove the tank, just take a small screw driver and GENTLY bend all the finger tangs inside the upper hardware down just a bit.

You don't have to bend them very much!! You still want the tangs to hold the glass in place so when you unscrew the base hardware off, the glass stays in place. If you bend them to much, your stuffed. As trying to bend them back UP is next to impossible.

P.S.
The setup helps in removing a broken glass tank as well.
