So Cal
Not before Chinese New Year, I'm afraid... Everything is on backorder. Those coils are very popular, apparently. :D

I really don't think they're available yet, as the only places offering them for sale state "pre-order" on the website. Ironic that the melo tanks are available and no spare parts yet, or they sold out!

I have successfully re-wicked a few of my Atlantis coils with cotton, and as others have said the taste and draw is very much improved over the stock coils. I also see no discernible difference in the lifespan of the re-wicked vs the standard coils. So you will still sell just as many replacement coils!

That being said, I can see no reason why Aspire wouldn't just stop making the current coils and retool their coil making to go with straight cotton. As vapers, we are now very concerned about our health!

Please Aspire, make the switch to an all cotton atomizer as soon as possible like your competition has! Kanger, Smoktech, and Eleaf sub ohm tanks all use cotton.

You have an awesome product in the Atlantis, don't ignore our health concerns and let them ruin an otherwise awesome clearo! As vapers, we generally have short attention spans regarding products, don't force us to forget about our Atlantis tanks and move on to a competitors sub ohm tank!

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your concern, there were some talks about the ceramic firber material we used in our Atlantis atomizer before. We at aspire
have paid high attention to this discussion and gave the responsible responses.
doubts and fears are due to the lack of cognition. Due to the unfamiliar and unknown on the ceramic fiber used in Atlantis atomizer, customers prefer to accept the things they known like organic cotton. We at aspire listen to customers' voice, Aspire R&D team has been researching to use the organic cotton which is widely accepted by people instead of our present material, after testing,we found that the flavor is more better just like customer suggested.
We are now doing running change to full organic cotton.
If any informations, our marketing department will put on our website.
Have a nice day!"

Darryl, reading your post I was prepared to respond to your post, quoting it to Aspire and simply saying 'ditto' or 'i second that' but then noted their concessions to your request, the shared request of many otherwise happy Aspire supporters. I just wanted to pass along this little victory to all and to thank you Darryl for continuing to support a stronger community of vaping through a calm, cool effort.

Now, where do we find the 100% cotton coils and how can we avoid the previous gen? If anyone finds the next gen coils for sale, please let us know!

I felt compelled to do so because many of us share health concerns over this usage of ceramic fibers. You are very welcome!

I am ecstatic that they are changing to all cotton!

Here is the email I received today from Aspire USA:
The new cotton coils have been released about 2 weeks ago. All Atlantis coils produced from that point and into the future will be full cotton coils. The packaging will be the same and you will not be able to determine the difference from the outer appearance. You would need to take it apart and look at the internal components. If this shipment is a recent shipment it is the full cotton coils for Aspire's Atlantis tank.

Thanks,
AspireUSA Team

I am happy that they are switching from the silica to organic cotton, but I am not happy we wont be able to tell the difference between the two unless we perform an autopsy! I also realize that Aspire is doing so to protect their distribution network and retailers from un-sellable stock!.

You're welcome!

I have about 8 coils left and I'll wait as long as possible before I order replacements... time to start the rebuilds and re-wicking of all my burnt coils! LOL!

Not being able to differentiate between the old (silica/ceramic) and the new (cotton) coils is an issue for me!

Was this on a brand new replacement coil, or?

New but used. I've had the atlantis for a while now, this was my ~7-8th coil. I was already using it for about a week. I was vaping for a couple minutes when out of no where it shorted.

The only thing that showed up on goggle was a reddit post suggesting you'd put an o-ring somewhere on the coil. I did that and rebuilt the + pin and it seems to be working fine. But it's made me super paranoid and I'm constantly checking the resistance between the ground and the + terminal .Maybe it was the "spring" on the + terminal.

All my coils have a small clear silicone o-ring

Good show!

I enjoyed your conversation with Aspire reps, even though they called my dear friend Hairball a sock puppet. No word on other BVC coils? I wonder if they will make cotton coils for the Nautilus and other tanks.

Phil Busardo is going to post a video of his visit to Aspire soon as part of his China visit series. Can't wait.

I too am eagerly awaiting Phil's part 3 in his visit to China series!

Kinda funny/odd that all this stuff comes from China, but I'm in Beijing right now and there is not one single vape shop here. Closest I found was in Shanghai, a 3 hour flight from Beijing. Also have not seen anyone vaping. When people see me vape, the get a kick out of it and say they have never seen anyone do it. Truly strange!

Please excuse me if this has been answered but what do you guys find to be the Ideal wattage for the Atlantis?

Remember that our .5 ohm coils are rated for 15-30W.

For most of the high VG stuff I like, I use between 20 and 30 Watts. But some juices I'll drop to 15-20W.

But that's me and the juices I run. Everyone's different; some like a strong hot throat hit, others don't!

I think you should always start low and work your way up to the sweet spot for you! And repeat this process whenever you change to a new juice!

Seriously. I do a simple search almost daily and cannot find anyone who has Melo coils. Total bummer~

You should perhaps think about Getting the new Ego One Tank.
That thing is super good looking, all metal case (won't break) vape is outstanding.
And is only $15 bucks.
There's the small one 1.8 ml and 2.5 XL version.

Here's a video of the whole device.....with tank.

Hell, i would even get the whole device, looks real good, and the small one with the 1ohm coil would be perfect for night out, will last 6hrs as long as you use that coil and not .5 ohm.

IMO the issue with that design is the tiny slits that make it difficult to see your juice level.

Yea, i can understand that.
But for price and my vaping experience...im guessing i tilt that thing and i'll be able to tell how much juice is left.
You see the clouds that made in the video?
15 bucks is hard to passup......

True, true... 15 is a great price.

But we should probably get back to Atlantis Q&A...

Speaking of which, I'm just loving my high capacity 5ml Atlantis tank! It's the perfect addition for your Atlantis and ADV!
