Hi all,

Am new to the forums, wanted to post in the clearomizer thread but can't as of yet.
I recently bought 2 x Aspire BVC Clearos and 10 spare heads - Problem is, the heads seem to last perfectly for a whole 2 days then start producing far less vapor and taste.

Before those, I was using Vision V3's and had the same problem just before they were discontinued from the company that I use to order from.

1.8ohm at 3.3v - After 2 days I am forced to up to 3.8v to get anything decent, a day later and it feels like I need to go up to 4.3v or higher. Earlier in the year I was using iclear 16's which would literally last weeks without cleaning!

I have tried dry-burning one of the aspire heads and pulsed for a good 30 minutes, seemed like it was going on forever. Vapor coming out with no sign of orange/red heat.
Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Could be your juice gunking up the coil, dark or sweet or colored and some flavorings can shorten coil/ head life.
Under powering can also cause residue to quickly build up in / on coils / heads.
I use 4.6v ~ 5.4v on 1.8 nautilus bvc heads and get 30ml useing a known coil gunker/killer flavor to more than 90mls vaping a non sweet clear tobacco flavors.

I wouldnt try to clean or dry burn a bvc.
Dry burning any head that long will ruin it for sure.

I bought my first Aspire tank using BVC heads about 90 days ago. It's pretty much my all day tank. I just changed the head for the first time last night, only due to noticing a slight decrease in flavor. I probably burned 200 ML of juice through it, probably more. I rinsed the used head out real well and will use it again. If it doesn't work well then, I'll tear it down and rebuild it. I'm very impressed with the life I'm getting out of those coils. I like them so well that I just bought two more Nautilus Minis.

1. Don't dry-burn BVC heads, without going into detail they really just aren't made for that sorta thing. They're good at what they do, but I can't imagine you were unwrapping the filler and stuff.

2. Topwater Elvis has it right, a lot of flavors just destroy coils either via particulates accumulating in the wicks so the liquid isn't moving or via gunking up the coil itself (custards & sweets are notorious for this, and some liquids use actual sugar).

Unless you're made of money I'd consider something cheaper & more rebuildable for the dark & desserty vapes and something clearer & less sweet for your Aspire if you want the coils to last a good while. e.g., I have one tank I just use for xtreme-ice type flavors and it goes for months with no change, while many of my tanks will start going wonky with 3ml of something darker & sweeter.

Hiya guys.

I'm not using the tank, am using the clearos from aspire. I am trying just a tobacco flavor for now (It's quite a pale yellowy liquid) at 4v and see how it goes. A liquid I did use before was Dekang vanilla which is quite a strong red colour. Hopefully I figure it out soon, am on the 3rd coil within 6 days.

I also remember using the Vision V3's at different volts, all same result, it wouldn't just die randomly, it would slowly die until it wouldn't fire anymore at all.

Regarding dry burning, someone posted on youtube dry burning their BVC and it worked perfectly, can't post links yet due to forum rules haha.
We'll see how it goes I guess. Thanks for the replies!

I Hate Aspire Tanks Useless

What can I say. I have been using mini Nautilus since the day (week?) they came out and can't get them to perform badly no matter how much abuse I throw at them.

The rest of the Aspire range is mostly bin worthy.

Since the OP is using non-Nautilus BVC (the small ones) I can only refer to my comments on these recently on another forum.

The clearomiser called "Aspire BVC clearomiser" is a £4.95 piece of junk. I know, because I bought two to travel to China (I didn't want my expensive hardware seized in Hong Kong) and tried to get through my trip with only these two clearos. They leaked and flooded and the threads went in 5 refills. Basically, they are very poor and I wish I had taken something like iClear16s instead.
With 80/20 liquid, they leak... this is not user error (that old Chestnut)... that is the design.
With 50/50, you can get a decent vape most of the time.

In this case, I would say the problem with loss of vapour and taste is almost certainly the Liquid. I know this, because this is the exact liquid I used in 2012 with my very first clearomiser (a CE4 "stardust" from Vape Escape). It lasted less than 48 hours.

some juices will clog the bvc, you'll know which ones if drawing in air feels constricted at all the air hole settings.
decided to try to clean the coil by rinsing, no go for me but maybe didnt do it long enough w/hot water.
did some searching and found some info......rince with hot water(maybe even boil the coils but i havent tried that yet), blow out the coils, set it up on your battery w/out the tank and pulse fire it repeatedly until u see coil going red, once red pulse fire it a few more times.
take out coil and rinse under hot water and then blow out the excess water, let dry but if impatient(like me) put on battery w/out tank and pulse fire just to evaporate water on coils, a few times should do it.
then add juice a few drops of juice from top and reassemble tank portion and prime it for as long as u can bear. the first few vapes wont be great but when the water has completly gone out of the wick its started working great.

this worked great on a 2 day clogged coil and revived a 7 day clogged coil but not as good as the 2 day one but close but maybe ill repeat the process for that coil.
tip: i used needle nose pliers to hold the coil and put it under the tap w/the hottest water for at least a few minutes
i only did this on two coils so ill see how it goes, but like i said im impatient so maybe waiting longer to dry might be better idk
btw im using the nautilus bvc

Cheers for the reply.

A lot of people are saying to NOT dry burn BVC's (however, there's a video proving you can) but the nautilus bvc and clearo bvc might be different. I did run it under hot water for a while, then left it in boiling water, let it dry and tried dry burning... didn't see the coil go red at all. There was a fair amount of vapor coming out though, this was after a good 30 minutes of pulsing, it was/is never ending.
I am trying a quite clear liquid at 4.3v as perhaps (as someone mentioned here) 3.3v was simply not high enough to fully burn the liquid.

it took awhile to go red, guessing under 20min for me maybe 10 iirc, if wick is wet coil wont get red, once it got red i only pulsed it a few more times to get it red b4 rinsing it out again

If you don't mind, how are you rebuilding them? There's a handful of youtube tutorials out there, but every single time I try I end up getting something with a very restrictive draw and a gurgly mess. RDA's in any which was are easy for me, but this thing has seen the better part of several hours with no real success. Thanks!
