Aspire CF Maxx + Atlantis Mega - Question

I've just picked up an Aspire CF Maxx and Atlantis Mega after using an e-cig for 3-days. I'm officially down to 0 cigarettes today after deciding to quit for good.

Here's my story:

Thursday - got my first e-cig and had 4 cigarettes. Friday - 4-cigarettes. Saturday - 3 cigarettes. Sunday - 1 cigarette. Monday (today) - 0 cigarettes.

As mentioned, I've now got the CF Maxx and Atlantis Mega. I believe that it's got a 1 ohm coil in it as standard. Aspire say that 40W is recommended for this.

However, at 40W i'm getting an insane hit in my throat - makes me want to cough. I've turned it down to 25W and it seems OK.

Am I putting myself at risk by using it at 25W?

No your not putting yourself at risk but if your vaping a high nic level and high pg juice at higher wattage, your going to get massive throat hit even with the 1.0ohm coil, even more so if your trying to mouth to lung..

I'm using 30% PG and 70% VG juice. Using it at 30W seems ok. I'm doing mouth to lung hits - as it replicates smoking for me.

So it's perfectly OK to use the Atlantis Mega at 30W on 1.0 ohm coils?

Also, the Atlantis Mega has top air holes (above the liquid). What are those air holes for? Should they be opened or closed?

Those airholes are you pref.with that setup and as you explore lower ohms coils you will really want to drop the nicotine level. what level are you vaping? Plus as you clear your lung of tar and analong debris you will be coughing

I'm vaping 18mg stuff. Got it on 30W, with top air holes closed and seems OK. For the record, I used to smoke 20-25 ciggies per day.

Then stick with it. A general rule for throat hit (TH) is more PG, more hit, more nic, more hit

Seems OK, unless you are flying through the juice. (Maybe one level too high on the nic') ?

I still haven't got to 25w after 3 years of vaping. There's no rights or wrongs... if it's working, be happy!
