Unless your still using early runs of the bvc's your not getting ceramic pieces. Aspire has changed the wicking material to cotton. I took a couple apart over the weekend both nauti and atlantis. There is no ceramic material in either. The first bvc I took apart initially had ceramic and when handled would fall apart. I still use both tanks regularly with no issue.

I don't believe what you've posted is accurate. From reading the other thread on Aspire coil material here and on Aspire's own website... is they are still using the same "ceramic paper" for wicking, but now wrapping it on the outside and inside facing the coil with a thin layer of cotton material. Both the bottom and top side covered by the metal screen have exposed ceramic material. Used coils have shown the inner cotton layer burned off and the ceramic material exposed to the coil surfaces directly.

That is my understanding as well.

I think the key to this particular clearomizer is to change the coil out often and regularly. And don't rinse with water, etc.

thoughts folks?

There was a long topic here about concerns. it started out about the chimney materials (Brass chimney instead of SS or chromed over brass), (one user said peices of it flaked off when he tried to wipe it down) and then the topic progressed on to the actual coil materials themselves which some vapers also found suspect in other regards.

I would suggest reading the entire 8 pages, and then making a decision for yourself about whether or not you wish to use the aspire mini nautilus ....... I really have no dog in the fight since I don't use clearomizers at all. :)

I told everyone that was subscribed to this thread that I would be back with my opinions and I am back!

Sorry it has been probably close to a month, I didn't want it to wait this long but I have been busy:

My thoughts:

Ok well I am still currently using my Nautilus Mini Clone with the real BVC coils (Believed to be at least). Quite sure they are real but not positive. But anyways, I haven't had any material shoot through the chimney into my mouth that I can remember. I am guessing the problem I was having is that I used the other coils way to much/long and wasn't changing them out frequently enough. Meaning, after they are used for a 2-3 days , they tend to get soggy and mushy...with that being said I am guessing and have a great concern that maybe what I was tasting in my mouth was where it was starting to break apart and fly through the chimney? That is one thing I definately think that it could have been.

Recently, I have only been using each coil for 3-4 days top and then I start to get scared and change them out. But other than my concern on when I should change them for my benefit I have not pulled no pieces out of my mouth from the coil since the last time I ran into these issues (That I can confirm). I did feel something a couple days ago (1 time), but I searched around with my tongue around my mouth like a snake (lol) and could not find any material stuck inside my mouth. So, like I said, I could not 100% confirm that this was that material breaking off again. I was (I believe) on my fourth day on that coil when I thought I ran into this issue again..maybe fifth day..sometimes i try to stretch the length of time per switching out because they cost so much per coil. But With concerns like this I wont let my pocketbook stop me from buying these coils on the regular and keeping a fresh one in there instead of running them to junk anymore. Btw I do run mine quite hot and chain vape on it pretty harshly sometimes. I vape it anywhere from 12-15 watts and chain vape the heck out of it.. The coils have no problem cooking that juice off for me at those watts that I can tell.. I don't even get burnt hits at these temps and if I do its like once in 50 hits. Not a big deal and its not even that dry of a hit.

Anyways those are my thoughts. I hope I covered everything that I wanted to. To conclude, I haven't confirmed any more material in my mouth since the last time I posted this, but I have and will continue to be very cautious with these coils. I have been keeping a close eye on anything coming through that chimney while im vaping on the mini nauty and always am alert every since my scare came about, around a month ago.

But to those out there that are concerned, don't hide it, if you think/know you have experienced any issues with this before (the coils head/material), post it here! This is the place for your concerns, as alot of people are checking this thread out about the coil.

If I have missed covering something or you have any questions for me please let me know. I didn't forget about you guys out there that might have wanted to read some more concerns on this topic. I am sure I am not the only one with a concern!

Have a great day folks.

The "ceramic" bvcs gave me some 'scooby snacks' if I used them for over a week or two. Chunks of what looks and feels like black glass. I just got the new cotton bvcs and I'm hoping it stops the problem, but either way I have a Lemo and iStick coming to replace my Nautys.
I'm a lung hitter and I don't need any debris in my lungs lol.

I hear yah brother. I haven't really took a close inspection to see if the current coils I have been getting are the newer cotton layered ones or the old ones. But I am going to examine them before too long.

If I were you I would consider building my own coils. You know EXACTLY What is going into the build and EXACTLY what you are vaping. You also have quite a large choice of wicking materials and can CHOOSE what YOU are most comfortable with. No more unknowns and defiently no more pieces of whatever going into your lungs and throat!! I choose 100% organic, unbleached cotton for my wicking material. It gives a very clean vape. You might want to think about building your own coils because this way you know what your vaping. It saves money and they last twice as long as pre made. You will also get better flavor. I don't know about you, but if my coils were leaving chunks in my throat I would seriously be DONE with those coils! Think about how much money you would save rebuilding your own coils! It's a LOT easier than you think. Hope this helps. I surely would at the very least, never use those coils again. Good luck and hope this helps. Please do consider what I've said.

So the "new" Nautilus non-ceramic material BVCs are available for the Mini? Only two days ago I contacted my local supplier who stated that these were not yet out. I also contacted Aspire directly and they responded that they were working on producing them, but they were not available as of yet and to continue to regularly check their official website for details.

Where are these new coils available and how can we differentiate between the old and new coils? Does the packaging look different or is it stated on the package?

It's not pieces of the coil, it's the gunk buildup on your coil from your juice that has developed on your coil.....try changing the coil and if it does it the next day or two later with the new coil you might try a lighter juice...

^What sparkly said^ It has to be gunk in your atty coming loose. The latest Nautilus coils are not made of ceramic, they use organic cotton.

I've been using a Nautilus Mini for well over a year now and never had any wicking material end up in my mouth. Then again I'm not a lung to mouther! As some others have suggested, you may need a different tank.

Maybe consider another Hobby?

Seriously, if you are pulling large enough pieces of WICK(not coil) into your mouth that you can pick them out and look at them without need of magnification.........
Well your draw is WAY WAY to hard.
If the coil is still working well, as you stated, I'd have a look when the tank hits empty, or empty it NOW and have a look. Then Replace the coil.

A Defect is a defect.
Defects happen.
You don't necessarily need to use Defects.
Replacements are a viable solution.

You do know they have Different Material heads available now right?
