I purchased a Nautilus a few weeks ago and was very happy with it. Last week I started getting a slight burnt taste so I cleaned it up and changed the coil. I filled it up with fresh juice (the same that I had been using) and again it tasted burnt. 4 cleanings/coils later still no change and an added bonus: flooding. I'm ready to toss it in the garbage.

It sits on an itaste mvp 2.0 vv/vw. I prime it before I vape a fresh tank and generally stick around 8-9 volts.

8-9 V is high for the nautilus coils. I use mine at 3.4 to 3.6V or it does burn the coil. the holes need to be bigger to get more juice to the coil in order to vape at higher voltage.

the only time that i ever had mine flood was when the metal round domed shaped piece at the top of the tank was not tightened down. it is easy to accidently loosen it while screwing the tank on to the pv.

good luck!

New vertical coils heads are coming out for the Nautilus Mini, and are compatible with the big Nautilus. They are suppose to be a lot better.

I have issues with mine too. The head that came with it had a good amount of vapor. I pick up a new pack of heads and now get very little vapor output.

With the heads being so expensive they really need better quality control.

I joined the forum today after coming here to see if anyone else was having issues with the Nautilus Aspire. Turns out lots and lots of posts of coil issues, burnt taste, etc. I had mine for less than 3 weeks and went through a lot coils, which to me is expensive and not acceptable. I've also read I can mod the coils, but why should I have to. They should work correctly to begin with. I had visited my vapor store several times and was advised to turned the voltage down, use a smaller air hole, clean the coils, all to no avail.

So three days ago I gave up. It just wasn't worth the aggravation and I wound up getting the brand new Kangertech Mega. I can't say enough great things about the Kanger. The vapor is bigger, I mean amazingly bigger! The coil is lasting. There is no burnt flavor. And I love how on the Kanger, the air hole is infinitely variable, as opposed to the Aspire's 4 - hope you can find one you like system.

I've read they are introducing a modified coil and maybe I'll give it a try on Aspire, but to be honest, the Kanger is simply miles better in my opinion. I prefer something works with minimal fuss and the Kanger does just that.

The only issue with the Kanger Mega is it does not hold as much juice as the Aspire. It still holds more than the regular Kangers as well as most other systems. And when you fill it upside down the tank is full, but when you turn it right side up, it looks half empty. The reality is there is a lot of juice not visible as it's hidden beneath part of the stainless tank. So far, a tank is lasting all day and then some and that's really all I wanted to begin with.

Glad to see Im not the only one having problems with the Nautilus! I've also got it on my MVP 2.0 and usually after 1 day I have the weird burnt taste. Everyone has been raving about this tank but I'm going to go back to my protank 3's, no headache, no fuss and they taste and vape wonderful! Its possible that perhaps I also got the "bad batch" of coils but having to pay $20 a pop just to find out if I have the bad batch sucks.

There are new coils for the nautilus now, apparently much better all round meaning more flavour, more vapor and longer life. I can't verify as I sold my nautilus after having the same issues you're having now, and the coils aren't cheap. I now run an aerotank mega which is far better IMO, better looking, better airflow, much better flavour, more vapour, coils come with more resistance options down to 0.8ohm's and last much longer. Yet to have a burnt/dry hit or flooded tank

I also own a nautilus and am looking forward to the new BVC coils. From my limited experience and what I have read on these forums one of the most common mistakes and design flaws on the nautilus is over tightening the bottom seal after filling. If the bottom seal is too tight it appears to cause problems with juice flow.

ya.. loved it for a day, had some issues after prolonged use yesterday, but then someone pointed out the proper volts to use.. on my atmos power-vape base, I lowered the volts from the 4.5 the guy that sold me it recommended, to the the appropriate 3.5 for a the 1.6 ohm coil. working better! but I'm looking forward to the new BVC's that supposedly get released tomorrow.. 7/15 for the nautilus Mini, but they also work in the full.
