Well, I'm definitely going to go through the 5 heads I've got. I thought I might have gotten a dud, but I don't figure the 1.8 and 1.6 that come with it come from the same batch. So two duds seems a little less likely. I guess I'll find out when I open the 5 pack.

Wow, I'd love to be able to go up to 17w. The 13w had a nice warm taste for the split second before the head went funky on me. I also noticed that the Kanger heads are much cheaper than the nautilus. It might be worth it to purchase one for that reason alone when I get some more money in.

I didn't do that. But I did let it wick for quite a while, and the burnt taste doesn't happen until after I've vaped quite a bit.

Yeah, I'm sure. Well, as sure as I can be. The Aspire website says the code is good and the scratchy stuff hadn't been scratched off.
If you are chain vaping you are going to need to take primer puffs every few hits, that's with any coil if you chain vape. If those are bvc coils they are bottom vertical feed. Open up your airflow! Go ahead & tighten that coil, don't crank it down, just tighten it normally. And check it to make sure it stays screwed in everytime you refill, I tend to pull on the bottom when unscrewing the base & the pressure from pulling makes my coil come unscrewed a bit at a time sometimes. I have one juice, a dark coil gunker that burns up in my Nautilus tanks. Using a lower wattage helps, but the ceramic bvc's get really hot anyway. You need to get more air across that coil. Your pg/vg mix should be fine, but if the flavorings are coil gunkers they are going to gunk up & burn you juice to your coil, so it's caked up on there, & just sit there & burn. You don't have to turn it upside down. It's bottom feed, you don't want air in the coil, you want juice in the coil & air flowing across it. Open. Your. Airflow. You can get a good, warm vape from a Nautilus without going to 17 watts. Every device & every tank vapes differently at the same wattage. Big differences between my Nautilus on the MVP & the same tank, same juice of my Hana. Same goes for the Kayfun, 4 different experiences with one juice.

I have been using the Nautilus for 6 days and I love it. Granted its mounted to an ego Spinner2 at 4.3v. I found even with the biggest hole setting it was restrictive airflow. I have opened the hole a bit more for more airflow, which, gives me a bigger draw.
I have had no problems with the first coil yet and still have the replacement still in the box. I am chain vaping all day as well.

So far, I'm on my third tankful with the CE5 and the head is doing just fine, so I don't think it's an issue with the Vamo. The CE5 is also running a 1.8ohm BVC head, of course it's a different style than the Nautilus head but I'd think the Nautilus would be the better built on considering the price. I'm going to enjoy the CE5 for a while and make sure it doesn't burn up as well before trying yet another head on the Nautilus. I want to be able to enjoy my Vamo without feeling like an idiot for buying the Nautilus for a while.

Is the Nautilus supposed to suck through juice like crazy? They have different capacities so it's hard to tell for sure, but it sure seems like my CE5 gives me a lot more bang for the buck, juice wise. With similar air hole settings, I'd think the Nautilus wouldn't go through that much more juice than the CE5.

I've been using a nautilus mini on an mvp2 for the past few months, I've been through about 4 coils, with no problems. I Love this thing. Just the other day, I decided to put a new coil in. Primed it, let it soak for 20 minutes. Took my first pull, and just about choked. Dry and burnt. Swapped coils to another new one. Same results. Reinstalled old coils, upon closer inspection, I found that the juice was not soaking into the wick, it looked like there was an oily coating on the wick, and coil body. I soaked the coils in vodka overnight, then let them dry. I then 're installed into my natilus mini. Low and behold they worked! Still had some burnt flavor, but they appeared to start wicking. I have one new one left, so I think I'll soak it in vodka before trying it out. Btw, I use 70/30, or 80/20 pg/vg

I vape off a nautilus mini bvc at 14 watts all day. Chain vaped 4 tanks of 90%VG smax pony a few days ago (wrote a review on it), and didn't have one dry hit.

However, when I ran the nautilus on an istick 20 which is PWM device, I couldn't take it up over 10, 11, or 12 watts on a lot of juices cause it would taste burnt. Just the juice I guess, and PWM devices cook coils quick.

Friend had a bogus nautilus with some weird coils in it. Tastes like trash. He hated it. I hated it. I handed him a new mini nautilus with 2 coils and he bought more nautilus's that evening.

Hi,

I'm new here but thought I'd chime in :)
I don't know where I read it but I learned that after filling up the tank to let it sit for four minutes and that seems to work very well for me :) I also take a few small draws at first on the smallest hole. One thing I do notice is that if I have it in my coat pocket and it's very cold outside (I live in Canada) when I go indoors the condensation seems to leak the juice through the drip tip until about 30 minutes when the tank acclimatizes.
I usually vape 50/50 with a 1.8 coil (BVC) and they last me about a week. Great flavour out of this tank. My other fav is the Kanger Turbo.

Hardware I use for Nautilus is:
MVP 2.0 at between 9.5 - 11 watts

I live in Canada as well and find if I vape on my nautilus in the cold, It tends to start gurgling. Presumably because the cold air is causing remaining vapour in the chimney to condense and drip back down into the coil.

Im not sure what would be burning up the op's coils unless they are bdc. I use my bvc coils at 13-14 Watts all day with 50/50 juice without issue.

Hope you have better luck, it really is a great tank.

The Istick runs hot, it burns some of my juices, too. I don't like it for that reason.

I put the nautilus back on for the first time since my post, and oddly the burnt taste is gone. It may come back, but the flavor was just so non-existent I went back to my CE5. I guess I'll just pick up a few more coils for the CE5s and use the Nautilus for an occasional third flavor, or sell it on Ebay or something. I just can't imagine ever thinking that thing was worth the money considering how much cheaper the CE5s are and their vastly superior performance. If only they came in a larger size...

Hey I haven't used a nautilus but I figured I'd throw this in there, had you used the juice that you put in the nautilus before? Because it could very well be the juice and not the tank I know when I first tried 555 by Mt Baker I wanted to die. It had no flavor I thought the coil was burnt but needless it was the juice itself not the tank just a thought.

Yeah, I've been vaping Azure's smooth since 2013 or so. On my old V2 cigalike to the Egos with cartomizers, to the Egos with the CE5s, it's always tasted fantastic. It's one of my favorites.

One thing I would suggest is trying another flavor in the tank or trying the smooth in the ce5 it could also be a problem with the juice

I had bought a naut last week or so, one day i over tightened it and it got leaky and gurgly. put it away for a week, tonight just took it apart then put them together nicely snug-tight-like. Works great now, hate the ejuice in it now, kinda too much throat hit. will take it apart and clean them later this week when i pick up a ejiuce brand i want to try out. Probably gonna get some coils for it in the meantime.

only remorese is, not getting the mini tank. I think ill use the 5 ml tank when i happen to get drunk and chain vape. might as well pick up a steel tank or a hollow out for it.

Be sure to verify the authentication codes on any new coils you get to make sure they aren't clones. You can do it on the Aspire site. The code is in a scratch off box under the UPC code on every box of coils.

I use to have nautilus but for me long as I don't go over 4.0v it was good when I hit 4.2v it gets burnt out fast so I use to have em at 3.75v and it was good( E juice was OMG ... I think it's 60vg/40pg) Only thing was when I started to drip I couldn't go back to nautilus due to small air flow. So I've got atlantis but ended up giving that to a friend due to a same issue + don't want to keep buying atomizer. So I'm getting kayfun v4 (clone) don't have it yet but hope it's better than atlantis. Atm I use veritas, manta v2( I like manta better than veritas due to airflow) and dark horse and atomic.
