I purchased an Aspire Plato kit a little over a year ago. I never had any issues with it except some occasional leaking at the bottom where the airflow vent is. I haven't used it in about 4 months, but decided to bring it out to start vaping again. A week ago it had a slight charge and was able to flash a low battery message on the screen. When it is plugged into a wall adapter or my computer now, nothing. It won't turn on or charge at all. I've tried other batteries, downloading the latest firmware, but it does me no good when the mod won't even turn on or flash a light, anything. It just looks like a paperweight at this point, but I'm not sure what else I can try at this point. Any suggestions?

Not really. Sounds like you've tried the obvious solutions. Although, since you've had leaking, I might look at cleaning the battery terminals, and whatever you can get to inside the mod. There may be some ejuice clogging up some areas in your mod. If you clean it then leave it open for a day or so to dry out. I hope it helps, otherwise you may have a paperweight on your hands, yes.

Good luck.

The plato uses a removable 18650 battery, have you checked the voltage?
The battery may be overly discharged & the internal charging circuit unable to recover an overly discharged cell, or, the battery may be beyond its useful life.
Batteries do need to be replaced occasionally, they degrade over time wether used or not.

Best to charge cells in a decent external charger.

Yeah, don't assume anything until you at least remove the current 18650, wipe the contacts down, and try another battery. If is this your primary vape, then over a year you might well have used that enough to the point it will no longer hold a charge. These batteries are good for anywhere around 300-500 cycles. If you have an off brand battery (not a Sony, Samsung. or LG battery) it might even be less. The advantage to a replaceable battery is your mod doesn't become a paperweight when an internal battery mode does that too. Just replace and it will likely kick back in.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might want to take the mod to your local B&M vape shop and have them test it out for you. Quite a few fixable problems mimic the paperweight syndrome.
