Had an unusual conversation today with a shop owner. I was browsing Craigslist over the weekend, looking for garage sales, when I found an ad from a store in a nearby town, advertising that they are now carrying vaping items and the Suicide Bunny line. Today I was in that town for work, so I stopped in.

Turns out it was a dingy place selling used computers and mostly old junk, but the guy had an old rotating Seiko watch display with new, sealed SB liquids. I noticed that they were all 0 nic, so I asked if he had others.

He informed me that 0 nic was the way to go and that anything else was terrible for you, because nicotine would "tear your throat up" and that no one ever vapes in order to quit smoking, anyway. They vape just to vape, he said, and adding nicotine ruins the experience. He said he was still a smoker, though he had cut way back since he became a vaper. He offered to sell me some nicotine which he said he had in the back, and I could add it to the SB liquid if I bought some, but I declined.

The experience kind of got me thinking about what a wide range of information and misinformation there must be floating around at all these little places, and it reinforced how grateful I am to have found this forum, where I can feel more confident about what I read here.

I wouldn't have handled that well.

OK, so ya ran into a small time clueless operator trying to 'push' a 'fad' product (aka flea market piranha). Run away!

I used to enjoy hittin' da flea marketseveral years ago and semi-fog up da e-cig-a-like booths with customers hanging on to every word da carney was saying. I'd just hang 'round a lil' while playing Mt. St. Helens and then wonder off. Only had two folk ask me 'bout my setup. Told 'em and handed out a few of da ol' ECF business cards. Hope dey helped...

So like anything deal can be had or people had. This guy, although not in the know, might have scored a great deal on some tasty juice. If it is cheap, try it and maybe mix with bad flavors or add nic. Might be a score, or might be totally illegitimate pond water that gets you sick. I dont want the FDA to regulate ejuice. Look at what happened to the 1500 + speakeasies selling great beer before prohibition. They went bye bye and left us with 4 breweries that could last the "" no home brew period. The beer industry is still an oligopoly snatching much of the distribution. I love my local B&M juice and hope they can survive the onslaught of lib thinking IE. FDA/Taxing/Inspectors for "our safety". I like the wild west, just carry a big brain in your holster.

Tip your hat (or do the female equivalent) and move along. Nothing to see there.
Yep, that's exactly what I did. I'm on the fence about whether things like that should be regulated or not, but like lovemytank says above, I just carried my brain and used it. At least, in that instance, I did.

It's unfortunate that people like this are out there PansyRabbit, but it is what it is. I've also had a couple of encounters with clueless merchants and am also really glad I did my research on ECF and so knew better.

All we can really do is move on and spread the word best we can. Vape on :)

A shop advertised on Facebook and operates in the local mall. I checked it out and my first impression was not good -one of those dingy "electronics" stores that used to be in every mall. Exactly as you described, right down to the old watch stands and crappy computers. I had been in this store years previously and just shook my head at the "electronics," for sale.

Turns out this guy was an enthusiast! He had a great lineup of liquids and hardware. He even carried just about every coil I need which is not common in local shops. He was knowledgeable and not a hardware pusher. He was helping a new vaper and didn't push him to the latest and greatest. He ended up recommending a Kanger EVOD setup to the customer. I thought that was smart. Prices weren't wonderful but he wasn't gouging either. I will probably buy my next mod there when he gets some of the newer TC stuff in.

Locals are not always horrible. I rest assured that the fly-by-nights cannot possibly last long and will have to give way to the places that lead their customers to the right place. I know I won't give them my business because of what I'm learning here.

No amount of regulation can prevent stuff like this from happening. I've heard similar stuff from the dudes at the smoke shop, telling me nobody vapes below 6mg and most sub ohmers vape at 12mg... And I should upgrade to an istick 23w clone, with an Atlantis v1 cause my ipv will break and my lemo 2 will dry hit. Yeah buddy, keep helping me lol

So a bunch of 0 nic SB "fell off the back of a Truck." Let's punish a guy for trying to make a buck. Sometimes these threads make me vomit.

Just to clarify, in case you were referring to my post... I'm not saying anyone should be punished or even regulated. I was commenting more about the misinformation the seller was giving out and expressing gratitude for ECF.
