So i was bored and had just received my new sigelei 150. When I remembered my atlantis that was "broken" and in a fit of frustration had thrown in the depths of a junk drawer because it kept burning coils after not even one tank.

So i cleaned it out, threw in a new coil from the few i had laying around, primed it and threw it on the sig at 25w to start. And guess what, it worked fine. Bumped it to 30w, works fine. 35w is fine, 40w is fine and 45w is meh.
This led me to believe something had to be wrong with my ipv mini v2 because the atlantis did nothing but burn on it.

So then i wanted to try to get more air flow so i removed the airflow ring and the buffer ring inside. Now it lives happily at 45w on the stock .5 ohm coils. I think i may pick up some atlantis 2 coils to play around with.

thats enough of my senseless rambling for now lol good day folks :D:D

If you take yours apart, dont loose these little fellas if you want to reassemble in the future

Im thinking the Ipv isn't right, because 25w on the sigelei hits exactly like my unregulated box mod which works out to be around 26w with the atlantis.

Both my ipv and my buddies behave weird, and they are from separate vendors. My buddy tested his, and said its putting out more voltage than indicated on the display

I should also say, the atlantis burned on the mini v2 on every wattage between 20-40w which is weird

If I remember correctly, the ipv mini 2 works like the powerful mode on the sx mini, providing a short boost of higher then selected wattage to heat up coil faster.... Could be the issue

I want to run my Atlantis above 30w, in your experiences, can this be done without shortening coil life too much?

Life seems to still be very respectable, using 70-80% vg liquid, after 10 ml of juice that seems to have gunky potential, the coil still looks almost new running at 45-50w.
I would slowly work the wattage up until it gets too warm then back off a touch, but don't start off with 7-8 sec heavy hitters as a dry hit may be possible

How do you remove the ring?

There are youtube videos floating around, but I'd say, get an old knife or a sharp flat heat screwdriver and tap it into that highlighted slot, then use a larger flat head to further work the cap off.

If you remove the ring, can you run up near 50 watts with the standard coils ?

I've been able to chain vape at 45watts and 50 watts if you allow a couple min between vapes to allow to juice to wick on the standard coil.

I will be ordering the atlantis v2 coils to try out higher wattage (60-70w) since it flows enough air without the ring
