Atomic Clone Shorted - Battery still safe to use?

One of the negative posts on my Atomic clone is loose and ended up against the positive post. I didn't realize, went to vape it, and fired it with the short in place on my Nemesis clone. At first it seemed like I just needed to drip more, so I did, and vaped again, at that point the vape got really hot and the mod heated up enough that I knew something was wrong.

I was using one of the 35A purple Efest 18650s.

I pulled the battery out and felt it, it was warm like it would be after chain vaping, but not hot.

So my question, is this battery still safe to use? There's no bulging, deformity, or venting.

You should check to make sure the charge didn't get too low, below 2.7 is usually what the battery manufacturers say is the low end limit. A battery can fail if it was depleted too low

I have never had a short on a mech mod but, just in case, this would be good information for me also.
