Atomizer adapter question?

I never had a PV and I'm building myself a box mod...

My question is, does the atomizer connecter 510 (the thing that the atomizer screws in) can heat enough to melt the sides of my plastic box that are in contact with it?

I heard that an atty can heat to approximately 100 celcius, but I doubt that the connector become that hot...

I mean can you hold the connector between your fingers when vaping or it's to hot? Do I have to take specials precautions to protect the plastic from melting?

I bought a plastic enclosure especially for electronics projects and habitualy electronic parts heat so I guess the box can handle some heat... but if I stab the box with my soldering iron it melts but I doubt again that the connector become as hot as my soldering iron

I doubt it as i just put together a madvapes vv box kit and its fine. I think you mean the 510 connector .
Although my finger is not cause i hit it a couple times with the darn soldering iron !

Ah ok! but does the plastic touch the connector... I don't know how VV boxes are made so..

You just drill an 11/32 hole in the plastic where you want the connector, press it in, and then use some hot glue on the inside of the box to hold it firmly in place.
There are litterally thousands of little plastic box mods in use with no problem of the connector melting the plastic.

The connector is very low resistance, doesn't get hot.

The atomizer is a higher resistance metal, designed to get hot.
