Atomizer Cleaning Techniques

Is there a definitive way to clean the different atomizers. I am confused by all of the different things I have read and seen. Can the mods create a thread specifically related to this topic and possibly per model.
If there is an existing thread I did not find it under "Atomizer Cleaning".

Vandal--there are many experiments going on to try to find a SAFE one--you can look in the Experimenting with Equitment section --but read the warnings as these are just discussions and not methods that are being advocated. SAFETY comes first-----Sun

I had my e cig for 2weeks,itried to refill it with gylesrine (VG is it) but got it burnt, I was wondering which method of cleaning to adapt when I thought about using my water dental jet (water floss) and it got as good as new .
ps the water jet is amazing for cleaning teeth, massaging the gum and cleaning jewelry and all other hard to clean small stuff.
