I recently bought a new atomizer because my old was just didn’t seem right. When I put the new one in, it was amazing on how much smoke it was producing. I was way impressed as it worked better than it ever has.

Well recently I looked into the atty while topping off my cart and noticed that some of the metal wick/mesh (whatever you call it) has changed shape. It’s almost like the base of it has mushroomed out now. It appears to be working ok but seems like I do get the burnt taste much faster than before thus causing me to top off more often.

Any thoughts on why this has happened? Also, do attys either work or they don’t? I guess I am just unsure of what happens when an atty goes bad as well as why mine has changed like it is.

BTW... I have a 510 :)

Thanks everyone!!

Atomizers can die in an instant or can produce less and less vapor for a prolonged period of time before finally expiring. The only surefire way to know if an atty is dead or dying is by using a multimeter to test for electrical continuity and resistance of the heating coil.

I do not have a 510, so I cannot address the atomizer bridge problem you describe. I have never seen this on a penstyle atomizer. The mesh is wrapped around a metal form that we call the bridge. I can only think that physical force, beyond inserting a cartridge, would cause this to be compressed.
