Atomizer issues?

So I've had my Reo Grand for about four weeks now and it's amazing. I'm kinda bummed about my Cisco LR 306 and 510 attys. Now I must mention that I do not have a functioning multimeter (nor do I know how to work one), so I don't know what's really going on, but I know that only one of my Cisco LR 306 attys works with any regularity. I used my 510s only a couple times before setting them aside for the 306s (so much more flavor) and now they barely put out any vapor at all. I know I didn't bust them; there was no pop, nothing. They worked fine, and now two weeks later barely work at all.

In fact, I've been noticing even with my working 306, that when holding down the button, the firing is somewhat sporadic during the inhale. Whn I'm taking a drag, I sort of close my jaw so that the vapor hits my tongue directly. When it hits well, there is a nice, consistent stream of heat hitting me tongue, but recently I've been noticing patches of cool, and then my vapor is less dense.

I just made another purchase of like 6 Cisco 1.5 ohm 306s, so I'll be able to compare them, but I'm wondering if it's my Reo or the attys just dying. I HATE that I don't know what's wrong!

Since the REO has a mechanical switch, I don't that your problem is related to the REO. I have 4 of the REO mods & have never experienced an electrical (switch) problem. You might want to check your batteries. Also, some attys have a relatively short life - 2 to 3 weeks, while others will work for a month or more. I tried Cisco LR attys and that they did not perform any better than the attys I get from EastMall or GreenHouse One, which only cost me $3.00 ea. If you think it is the REO that is the problem, email Rob, and he will be happy to deal with your problem. What you are describing is one of the shortcomings of the LR atomizers.. They tend to work great for a while and then start to fizzle.. Thats the reason most places dont warranty them other than a DOA warranty. The reason they work so well initially is that they run hotter than a standard atomizers, which in most cases means they dont last as long either..

There can be a lot of variables in this equation but I tend to find that atomizer longevity is directly affected by contents and consistancy of your e-liquid. As a general rule of thumb juices with higher levels of undiluted VG tend to be very thick and can clog atomizers quickly. As well, e-liquid that is dark in color and sweet in taste are notorious for killing atomizers. Coffee and chocolate flavors usually tend to fit this description.

Ever since I have found a supplier who makes e-liquids that are relatively clear in color and have a thinner consistancy I have had low resistance atomizers that last me in upwards of 5 months.

Just something to think about :)

Actually the color has very little to do with it.. The color comes from the temperature that the flavoring is cooked at. All flavorings come in crystalline form and have to be cooked to make them soluble in either pg or vg. varying the temperature by even a single degree can cause the color to change.

You are right about the sweeter liquids though. its the sugars in them that tend to screw things up.

We all have our own opinions and they often differ. I swear by Cisco attys. Rotating 1.5s LR306 & LR510 for over 3 months with my Woody REO. Way longer than any Joye...true that Joye cost less but proper care/usage of my Ciscos the cost averages out.

I do agree with Banjo on contacting Rob about the REO.

Thanks for the knowledge. Just as an update, this is what I have been experiences since I wrote the original post: my Grand with 2 different AW 2200mAH 18650 batts and a 1.5 ohm Cisco 306 atty using relatively clear BWB 18mg peach juice has been, as it seems to me, misfiring. Sometimes I get a great vape, and it will be consistent for anywhere from 5-30 drags, and then it just stops working. As I am writing this, I am pushing down the button for around 1 second to see if it even fires, and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I just switched to a fully charged 18650 and one drag it works beautifully, the next it does not fire. Now, for the last 5 minutes, its been working great. I am very confused...
