Lost my first attys in over 6 months just last week. The difference was I was vaping them regularly at high voltages for the first time, and literally fried the coil. One 510, one RN4072.

Other than that I've not gone through any 510 attys in 6+ months. The RN4072 was a week old, and my first time using one.

If anybody here wants to send me your atty's. I might be able to deduce what solution will release the gunkie juice and get the the air flow back. If it heats up but has great air resistence, thats a clogged up mesh problem....it's your juice or it's the original pirmer stiil in the atty, after all these weeks, that's causing issues....different juices may require a different solution to clean up the air ways...cph works very well to extend atty life....

The resistance I was referring to was ohm meter resistance. I have one from TW that indicates 18+ ohms, one from Rocky ountain that is about 4 ohms, and a couple that came with my joye 510 that show to be about 3 and 1/2 ohms. The lower ones might work on a hv mod but would require much more than 3.7 volts to create instant heat (even though my 14500 batteries put out about 4.3 volts at full charge). I have tried soaking in cph, steam cleaning with my cappuchino machine, Dr Pepper, Coke, hot water bath, and others that I will remember later I am sure. If you want to try cleaning a couple I will send to you. PM me if you would like to try. Thank You.

I get about a week out of 801 attys if I'm lucky - had one that lasted over two weeks and amazed me no end. I have 24 attys in a drawer that are dead, and for some reason, I have another three with a hard draw that are otherwise working soaking in Crest Pro Health at the moment. :)

And this has been mostly with a Prodigy at 3.7 volts (18650 batt with the resistor switch). I like the coolness of the vape at 3.7 and getting all day out of the battery.

What is "cph" ? .and also, what can be used to clean VG out of atty's threads?

cph= crest pro health mouthwash, it's the best all around cleaner for an 801 that I know of. Clean the threads with cph!

wow, really, that's great! Because I've been looking for something else, that cleans those threads better. I've been using rubbing alcohol, which works good most of the time, however, I changed my DIY mix to VG and my atty's keep quitting, and I discovered it's clogging the threads and takes several times with rubbing alcohol to get it the threads clean again.

I'll give this a shot, thanks!

I still use 2 of my original 510 atty's from Sep...That is almost 5 months now of daily use and I have never done anything to them other then blow them out when I first started..I have not even done that in months. The vapor production is a bit lower and it is a harder draw compared to a new atty but they are still working pretty damn good. In 5 months I have not had one atty go bad and I vape constantly!

Great tip! .Thanks jdub!
I only vape VG also (I don't like the throat hit of PG) and to clean the threads I blow out the juice from the top (the area you would insert your cart) and use a paper towel to soak up the juices that will expel out from the atty. Then using that same towel (a clean part of the towel of course) run it along the threads over and over again till no more juice can be soaked up by the towel (a paper towel helps see the juice being absorbed) then go ahead and blow into the atty again and repeat all steps again. I will do this once ever day or at least every other day and it makes my atty feel like brand new. It works PERFECT! Good luck. Oh and don't use rubbing alcohol on your attys, for some weird reason it seems to reduce the life of them.

Anyway I've had my atty feel just as it did when it was brand new for about 1 month now so it does work if you take the time to blow it out properly, a good cleaning should take 10-15 min. If it was any faster than your rushing it. Good luck.:D

Wow Bogalu, that sounds like it could really help here, I've been blowing them out from the battery side, onto a paper towel, that's others had told me to do in .the beginning, but now that I think about it, how could I truly get all the excess junk out, by blowing into the end that has the problem to begin with.

I will definitely give this a shot, because I'm getting really tired of atty's quitting so often, and this sounds like it might rememdy this, and might even prevent it to begin with.

My husband just recently started vaping, so I've been trying to keep up with his atty's AND mine, and if I unscrew a working atty, to trying to test another battery, it quits, AHHHH..

They can be working just fine until I unscrew them, and then start behaving like a spoiled unruly child, lol, it's like they throw a little temper fit or something, and refuse to vape any more, lol.

I'm gonna start cleaning them more regularly, I'm thinking that's probably contributing to it, I was only cleaning them out once a week before this.. .

who knew ??.

for all the ppl with hard draw and the atty heats a bit but no vapor.. try this i did it to my old attys that i thought where dead.. there was no vapor from them at all.. i pulled them out of a box that had sat around for about a month but before that they where soaked in everclear for 12 hours..

so soak them in everclear.. let them dry.. dry burn them

one of them after a few long burns started to glow bright red again.. and vapes like new..
the other would not get red at all.. so i just kept dry burning it.. if it did not work i was going to toss it anyways.. well after awhile of this i would get a faint red glow.. heated that atty up till my battery started getting hot and finally i saw a very little bit of vapor show.. so i did it again still only a faint glow. until i dripped some pg on it.. there was a instant bright red glow and poof of vapor.. it is working like new again..

as far as the hard draw on attys.. the knock off ones i had this problem i put a needle up the hole on the bottom i put the thing in a bit over halfway into the atty.. draw is great now and hits better than before works like a real 510 atty now

My opinon is, when you blow from the cart end, your forcing the jucies to flow through the mesh and out the bottom. It's my opinon to not blow the juice thru the mesh but try to blow from the batt end and force the juice up into the burn pan and out of the mesh so air can flow through. I'm glad it works for you...
