I only vape VG also (I don't like the throat hit of PG) and to clean the threads I blow out the juice from the top (the area you would insert your cart) and use a paper towel to soak up the juices that will expel out from the atty. Then using that same towel (a clean part of the towel of course) run it along the threads over and over again till no more juice can be soaked up by the towel (a paper towel helps see the juice being absorbed) then go ahead and blow into the atty again and repeat all steps again. I will do this once ever day or at least every other day and it makes my atty feel like brand new. It works PERFECT! Good luck. Oh and don't use rubbing alcohol on your attys, for some weird reason it seems to reduce the life of them.
Anyway I've had my atty feel just as it did when it was brand new for about 1 month now so it does work if you take the time to blow it out properly, a good cleaning should take 10-15 min. If it was any faster than your rushing it. Good luck.
Wow Bogalu, that sounds like it could really help here, I've been blowing them out from the battery side, onto a paper towel, that's others had told me to do in .the beginning, but now that I think about it, how could I truly get all the excess junk out, by blowing into the end that has the problem to begin with.
I will definitely give this a shot, because I'm getting really tired of atty's quitting so often, and this sounds like it might rememdy this, and might even prevent it to begin with.
My husband just recently started vaping, so I've been trying to keep up with his atty's AND mine, and if I unscrew a working atty, to trying to test another battery, it quits, AHHHH..
They can be working just fine until I unscrew them, and then start behaving like a spoiled unruly child, lol, it's like they throw a little temper fit or something, and refuse to vape any more, lol.
I'm gonna start cleaning them more regularly, I'm thinking that's probably contributing to it, I was only cleaning them out once a week before this..

.
who knew ??.
