I got just my kit today, tried out vapping, it tasted effing terrible. Was told the atomizer needs to soak for a long time to get rid of that. Curious if I put a cartridge on with water if that would vap with no taste once the atomizer is no longer tainted.

Don't really want to waste anymore juice on these "tests" hits.

No, don't put water in your cart - that won't work. There is a "break-in" period with atties.

Atties don't need to "soak for a long time" to get rid of the factory primer taste. Yes, it's awful if you try to vape it.

Did you gently blow the atty out from the battery side (threaded side) onto a paper towel before you tried to use it? You'll see clear fluid on the paper towel as you blow the atty out.

After blowing the primer fluid out, put 2 drops of e-liquid onto the atty. Let it sit for a minute battery (threaded) side down.

Attach your cart and vape - gently puff on it a few times, don't inhale it.

If you still taste it, take the atty back off - blow it out gently again, put 2 more drops of e-liquid on it - try again. Puff on it the way you'd see someone puff a cigar - light repeated draws into your mouth, not inhaling.

If you are using pre-filled carts - just do the cigar puff thing a few times.

I've found it can take me up to 20 gentle draws to completely clear the horrid taste of the primer fluid.

Give it some time - your cart fluid or e-liquid will eventually clear any remaining primer as you drag on the e-cig and you'll start to taste it instead of the nasty primer fluid.

To soak in alcohol, blow through the battery end of the atty into a paper towel. Submerge the whole atty in high proof vodka or 190 proof pure grain alcohol. Soak it for at least 20 minutes. Blow it out again and repeat if you want. Rinse it with water and allow it to dry over night. Drip 3 or 4 drops of liquid into the atty and you're good to go. Hope this helps.

I haven't tried the cola flavor, so I'm not sure if it's bitter. Try different flavors. You will find one you really love. To become a committed vaper, you have to love the flavor. It is key to making your vaping experience enjoyable. With so many flavors available, there will be some that you absolutely love. When you find it, it's heavenly. Try some flavors that you know would be sweet, like fruity flavors or candyish. Maybe try caramel or cherry. I love pear, but it can be a little hard to find. Grape is also sweet. Maybe it will mask the bitterness until it's out of the atty. What you may be tasting is the cola flavor more than the atty. It takes a while to get a bad flavor out of the atty by just vaping. I've had some I had to finally clean because I couldn't get the flavor out.

Do you have a spare atty - swap them out (blow out the new one btw) and try the new one - does it still taste bad?
I have a 510 atty well I got the 510 kit from cignot - seems you made up your kit using a carto and a 901-510 aadapter? - and I havent had any issues like the ones you describe. Try the different atty and see how it goes.
Also - what voltage are you vaping at? 3.7 (usual with normal 510 kit) or 5v (modded type battery)?

Don't have a spare atty, I just one to try out vaping. So far I am less then thrilled.
USB Pass Through for KR808D (Manual Switch) - $12.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
PT is what I use.

Just took off the cart to check to see if it was dry or anything and the atomizer apparently had a grip on it because the filler came out and make a small mess, and wasted more juice.
Put it all back together and still just a minor bitter taste. I am starting to think I just got a bad juice... There is not even a tiny whiff of what I would have those cola should taste or smell. The bitterness is more pronounced on exhale if that means anything.

Thinking about ordering a few more flavors and see if those work.

I can't even be coming close to drying out. Unless my cart is magical and is dry when in use and re-wets itself when I take it off and check on it.

It might be a refrigerator light scenario though. Until explained to them otherwise a perfectly sane (although ignorant) person can rightly assume a refrigerator light never turns off due to their observation of it always being on.

Is there another way I should check on the cart?
With the assumption I was going to like vaping I was planning to do some cart mods so, but now I am just bleh about the whole thing.

Atm I have either "one of those atomizers" that just keeps the bad taste, and/or juice that just taste bad. Without multiples of either I can't eliminate the cause.
I have been using alcohol to try and "clear" the atomizer, have blown it out multiple times tonight.

I am just going to try again tomorrow and see.

Update on this, after letting it sit for another few hours the atomizer started working again, but still taste like horrible badness...

Pretty much feeling like the gerbil in the cage that keeps touching the button that gives me a shock. Going to see about getting a new atomizer, and some different juices... Past that not sure what to do.
