I just got my janty dura and it smoked like a champ for three days. I noticed some what appeared to be metal residue at the bottom of the atomizer. I dont know if they can melt if over heated. I am a heavy smoker trying to give up analogs. I have only used carts not liquid so far. I want to use the liquid i bought but I want to use a method that is best for me and the ecig but I havent found one to go with yet. I ordered a new atomizer from janty but am concerned im doing something wrong. Every time I pull on it , the light stays lit for only 3-4 seconds then goes off. It used to stay lit for as long as I pulled. Help me understand.

I put some pictures of it on here. Im just hoping someone may be able to see something. (Not being the greatest pictures). It almost looks like metal is all around the gold ring and heavy in the middle. The shiny parentheses looking parts are the only places where it looks how it is supposed to look to me. I dont know what to think, but I need this to work properly because I know I can quit analogs with this ecig.

I can't really tell from your pictures, but I believe that the metal you are referring to is part of the atomizer itself. I was just looking at mine and there is indeed metal around the edge of the gold ring, it's the same material as the metal mesh protruding upward. Every atomizer I have for my DURA is the exact same and they all have this metal ring portion, it's just part of the atomizer. I do have one suggestion, don't play with that atomizer too much and don't jump to conclusions too quickly if it's working properly. As for the light going off, I often have this problem too. Originally it was due to the fact that I had been dripping too much into my atomizer and the liquid was either clogging my atomizer or had dripped a bit into the batteries, altering their performance.

After going through several atomizers when I started, my main advice is to stay away from dripping and simply keep your carts wet. I put a few drops in my carts after about every 10-15 puffs, just to ensure that the atomizer doesn't dry up.

I hope that's helpful, that's just my personal experience.

When my dura slows up I do a few things:

- I remove the atomizer and separate the cartridge, then "gently" blow thru the end of the atomizer that connects to the battery. This seems to free up the airflow should the atomizer have been flooded for whatever reason.

- I gently blow through the mouthpiece (everything connected). This helps activate the atomizer creating heat and as I'm blowing through the mouthpiece it forces the liquid down onto the atomizer (wicking).

- I remove the battery and gently blow through the fake ash end. This seem to reset the switch and allows the LED to stay lit longer.

I don't do them in any particular order nor do I usually need to do them all in the same instance.

You'll need to play around and get used to your new "toy" by experimenting.

I'll also mention that when your battery gets low it will not heat the atomizer up as hot nor as quickly and will lack in producing a satisfying hit.

Make sure you followed the suggested instructions from the forum users to initially charge your batteries for 8-12 hours and then for a min 4 hours next time round. All this, regardless of what your charger's LED light is indicating.

Thanks for the great directions. I'm on my 1st day of vaping. I thought I broke mine, but it was clogged and opened up a bit after I blew through the opposite end. Guess I clogged mine...

I'm confused on the disconnect the battery and blow through the ash end. I don't think my ash end separates from the battery. And when I blew on it only my cheeks puffed out... Guess I'm lost here...

But, thanks for the info on clearing the clog. It is working better.
