Good Morning Everyone!

Have an EGO and I just received the 901 whistle tip (flat tip) cartridges.

The 510's that I had been using were oblong at the atty end and lined up with perfectly with the white oblong in the atty.

Here's my question. The 901 flat tip cartridge is 3/4 round and 1/4 flat at the atty end. Can you picture in your mind with my description? What position would this go into the atty relative to the oblong in the atty?

If I line up the flat end of the cart with one of the flat edges in the atty oblong the whistle tip does not line up with the button on the battery. Infact it's in a pretty akward position to push.

Would welcome any suggestions.

OK. There are three 'styles' of cartridges for the 901 and 2 for the 510.

They both come in "0" style and "D" style. The 901 also has a two piece cart - cartridge can be separated from the mouthpiece and body - similar to an 801 cart. And this 901 is like the "0" style but has a few dimples in the sides. What you're describing in your 510 is the "0" style.

Yes. That's the "D" style 901 cart.

Here there are two 'camps' - the 'cart aligners' and the people that don't concern themselves with it - mainly people who have flat tips ;-) for the exact reason you state.

What you can do to make sure you have the best alignment is to take a look at the bridge of the atomizer and make sure it and the metal mesh that covers it is as close to the center as possible. You can 'nudge' the bridge a bit with a round toothpick - I wouldn't use anything stronger like a dental pick - just because you really don't want to break it. And it can be nudged - I've nudged a few in 11 months and it is the first thing I check when I get new atomizers - is the bridge centered? And if it is then cart alignment really shouldn't be a problem - after all the D style IS made to go onto an atomizer ;-) So just line up the flat part of the flat tip mouthpiece so it is on the same plane as the battery button and you should be good to go.
