hi i just bought a new m-401 and i really want to look for a better quality atomizer the gammuci ones look the same but over priced but i heard the firelight ones are a little different and get more vapor with less battery and they're only nine dollars u.s. compared to 24 for the gammuci and 6 for the m400's but i need to know if it will work on the m400's battery and fit in their cartridges because i think their cartridges are best price and simplicity when refilling and don't want to replace everything.

No idea.

M401/402/403 are very slim male threaded batteries and female-threaded atomizers

You have M401? I think just use M401 atomizers and the carts that are meant for M401 atomizer.

Nothing wrong with my M401 atomizers - real SMoore M401 atomizers. But you are not going to get a big hot hit off an M401. The little batteries only really put out about 2.7 volts. M401 has great flavor, especially with blue foam stuffing. But it is not the ecig I pick up when I want a good hit. It's the one I pick up for a tasty dessert flavor.

It may be the length of a mini but diameter-wise it's a super-mini and that's not the place to be if you want strong hits.

i noticed a drop in performance after just 2 weeks after almost daily refilling of the carts so i was hoping maybe i can get a more reliable atomizer that boasts thicker hits with less drain on the battery. Do the mini's use the same atomizers and how do i know if the supplier for the m401 atomizers are selling the SMoore atomizers? litecigusa is where i have been buying. if those are minis how big and bulky are some of the other ones cause i thought the m401 was too big already its a hair smaller than a swisher cigarello.

M401 by its length is classified a mini. However, it is identical to the superminis M402 and M403 except for the battery length. Most minis are 9mm+ diameter (510, KR808D-1 etc)

I started on M402 and then got M401 batteries instead. I think MyPVShop's atomizers are real Smoore - you could ask them if they are.

I needed to clean my M401 atomizers weekly when I was using it full-time. I would swap to a clean dry atty (after priming it w/ juice and waiting for that to soak down to the heating coil) and clean/dry the other. I would blow it out then soak it overnight in strong vodka (because I cannot get pure grain alcohol in my state). I would scoop some alcohol through the atty then lay it in the jar of alcohol and make sure all air bubbles were out of it. Next day I'd scoop alcohol through it again to clean out dissolved stuff then shake it out into the sink and set it to dry on paper towels. You can speed up drying with a blow drier. I used all gold-color attys so I don't know if alcohol would affect the paint on the other colors (but it does no affect the paint on my other model painted attys)

Some people use near-boiling water instead to clean attys.

I also cut blue foam stuffing for my M401 cartridge (I am still using the same cartridge and cut a new blue foam plug for it a couple of time). Now I just vape the M401 at home with a nice caramel flavor and during the day I use 9mm minis w/ cartomizers so I don't have to add liquid as often.

is a high strength isopropal alcohol ok to use to clean the atty? and that blue foam stuffing u say it works nicer than the wool? whats it called and does wal mart carry it? also i tried dripping e liquid onto the attys wire mesh and it seemed to hit worse for a few puffs what is supposed to be the purpose of priming and was i supposed to drip it under the bridge?

You can use isopropal alcohol but just don't ingest any. Make sure you shake the atty out well afterwords and dry it well. Then be sure to prime the atty w/juice before you use it, especially where you see the white wick under the atty bridge and then let it sit upright for a few minutes so the juice will hopefully get to the coil and prime it.

Blue foam - M401 carts are small enough that you can but plugs from the larger cheap precut pieces for 510 at strictlyejuice.com. if you want to buy the bulk, it costs 10x as much and is Marineland Rite-Size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart. I think it works as wekk as brand new white stuffing and stays nice a lot longer.

Search Youtube for M401 Blue Foam
The guy the video is using a similar gray foam that comes in a bigger block. The blue foam is thinner and its thickness is just right for M401 carts. He is cutting a pretty extreme plug. I recommend instead you cut the plug about 3/4 the inner length of the juice cup and a tiny bit wider to discourage it from slipping down in the juice cup. Like cut a straight piece out of the foam the same width as the thickness of the foam and only round the long way corners of slightly. Not too wide or that will press the foam holes closed and it won't wick well. Taper the inner end of the plug a bit. A small smooth unbent paper clip is helpful for positioning blue foam. before cutting, many recommend rinsing the blue foam then pat totally dry with a paper towel. Shouldn't really needed since it is safe for fish but good idea.

On a full fill, remove the foam, fill the juice cup 1/2 way with juice, insert the tapered end of the blue foam, and then push the blue foam down into the juice to wet it. Then reposition the top edge of the blue foam at the top edge of the juice cup, and top off with 1-3 drops, just whatever it needs to look damp on top. Don't overfill. Then just like with the white stuffing, top off whenever it needs it, and when topping off doesn't help much then it is probably quite dry so do another full fill.
