Atomizers

What tanks do you use?

I have this issue with top feeding tanks, every few days I need to dis assemble the tank clean everything, dryburn it then rinse it again. Very annoying, so I have recently ordered a few RBA's to try my luck with.

Over all I have noticed that bottom feeding(pro tank 2, Iclear 30b, Iclear 16g) tanks last a week or more for me before having to clean them.

I went through coils/wicks/heads every one to two days. Gets expensive. I learned to rebuild them. Became cheap.

Found out that my DIY cinnamon Danish with sweetner at about 50/50 was a real coil killer. Didn't care. Love my CD.

Moved to cartos. Same thing. One to two days. Got old, and expensive.

Using RTA's now, coils last a long time, just dry burn. Cotton coils replaced frequently, but cheap, easy, and delicious. Just the way it is for me. YMMV. Good luck!

Our liquid is the TW Titan range coffee flavour. The atomizers are 2.4

Coffee flavors are notorious atty killers.

With darker/sweeter liquids, I tend to clean the atty a lot (soak in hot water, dry burn) every few days until I can't get it clean anymore. Then rebuild with cotton. A bag of cotton balls will last a lifetime, and kanthal wire is not very expensive.

I am using the kanger protank mini 2 and the kanger 2.2 ohm atomizers. Every other day I disassmble the entire tang and pop the coil air tube off the atomizer and rinse everything I wash with a little soap all the parts ACCEPT THE COILS! those I just give a good rince holding the cotton in by pinching it down. I also notice that if I do not give enough time between drags for the whick to replenish I get a burnt taste like a certain substance that you can get on the corner of any rough neighborhood. I thought my coils were burnt out but I just let it sit for a minute and the taste is back to normal. Hope this helps

im questioning how you guys go through those atomizer heads in 2 days...
ive used protanks 1-3 and maybe have to replace the atomizer at like...the week week and a half mark
and rebuilding those require damn near jewelers hands. so big props if you can do it. tried it for a week and wanted to kick the walls in my house down

It really depends on the juice you have in there. My banana nut bread juice can clog up an atty in a day of I use it enough.

I am not great with my hands, but I'm ok at rebuilding an atty. It's not for everyone, but it's not that hard.

Not so much about time as it is about mils vaped and type of juice. Most cartos will go about 30 mils (according to IBTanked, as one of many examples), less with heavy, dark, sweet juice. So, day and a half to two days is about right based on my usage and juice. Some people can go two weeks on a carto, even in a month in rare cases. Wrong juice and lotsa juice does translate to a couple of days. If you're vaping 1 - 3 mils a day on a non-coil killing juice, well then you can see where 10 days, even two weeks might be possible. Also, vape technique comes into play as well. I like a long heavy pull, just the way we're told not to do it, else suffer the early death of our builds/heads/coils. Don't care, like what I like, the way I like, and accept the shorter coil life. Varies for everyone. YMMV. Best!

With certain juices, including my sweet Cinnamon Danish, high heat also both carbonizes and caramelizes the wick and coil. Think Crème Brulee with a torch. Makes the juice hard like glass. Very difficult to clean, often cannot clear/clean with dry burning.

Regarding the building of coils on the Protank and similar devices, I found that I needed good magnification which I got with a jeweler's visor and mounted lighted magnifying lens (adjustable). Add the proper tools (tweezerman's, mandrels, coilers, etc., and it's not all that difficult, even with poor eyesight and arthritic weak fingers and hands. Also found that once I learned to rebuild kanger coils, this did translate to other builds, which are quite often easier than the kanger rebuilds. Go figure. Anyway, my two cents. YMMV. Good luck!

Both of you have been vaping for a year now. Time to move on to more advanced gear. Also now that you have your 5 posts you should jump onto the English sub forum to see what's available in GB.

You might like a VV-VW PV or you might like a mechanical PV, that's up to you, but I would strongle suggest looking into RBA-RDA's. They will save you a lot of cash, and will pay for the nicer PV's over time. I replace about 10 cents worth of wick & wire a month compaired to your $4.00 for an atty every few days. I also DIY most of my own e-liquid, which means that you spend in a couple of days what I spend in a month. The savings in both juice & atties has sure allowed me to buy some nice PV's.

At this point I would suggest going to a local vape shop and asking for a genesis style tank and either a mechanical or a VV/VW mod. You will have to rebuild the tank but IMHO I think they are one of the easiest to re-build for beginners. I think this would get you off to a good start. You may have more cost upfront but you will stop buying $4 atomizers all the time. I have been rebuilding RDA's for awhile now and I still don't really mess with re-building ProTank atomizers. There are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube that can get you started for rebuilding the coil in the genesis style tank.
