im questioning how you guys go through those atomizer heads in 2 days...
ive used protanks 1-3 and maybe have to replace the atomizer at like...the week week and a half mark
and rebuilding those require damn near jewelers hands. so big props if you can do it. tried it for a week and wanted to kick the walls in my house down
Not so much about time as it is about mils vaped and type of juice. Most cartos will go about 30 mils (according to IBTanked, as one of many examples), less with heavy, dark, sweet juice. So, day and a half to two days is about right based on my usage and juice. Some people can go two weeks on a carto, even in a month in rare cases. Wrong juice and lotsa juice does translate to a couple of days. If you're vaping 1 - 3 mils a day on a non-coil killing juice, well then you can see where 10 days, even two weeks might be possible. Also, vape technique comes into play as well. I like a long heavy pull, just the way we're told not to do it, else suffer the early death of our builds/heads/coils. Don't care, like what I like, the way I like, and accept the shorter coil life. Varies for everyone. YMMV. Best!
With certain juices, including my sweet Cinnamon Danish, high heat also both carbonizes and caramelizes the wick and coil. Think Crème Brulee with a torch. Makes the juice hard like glass. Very difficult to clean, often cannot clear/clean with dry burning.
Regarding the building of coils on the Protank and similar devices, I found that I needed good magnification which I got with a jeweler's visor and mounted lighted magnifying lens (adjustable). Add the proper tools (tweezerman's, mandrels, coilers, etc., and it's not all that difficult, even with poor eyesight and arthritic weak fingers and hands. Also found that once I learned to rebuild kanger coils, this did translate to other builds, which are quite often easier than the kanger rebuilds. Go figure. Anyway, my two cents. YMMV. Good luck!
