I am a new to this. I bought my first e cig from njoy. After about a week, it stopped working. I bought another one from smokeytreats and that went dead within a couple weeks. I had sent my atomizer back to njoy and they replaced it and that worked fine until today. Dead again. What am I doing wrong. I did buy some of the e liquid from smokeytreats and used that in my njoy. Am I putting too much in? Or just puffing on it too much. I tried cleaning it out with vinegar and water and letting it dry out but nothing. I have read that puresmoke is pretty good. Should I just give up on this and try puresmoke. Help. I bought one for my sister and her's is dead too!

I did the same thing when I started e cigs. Went thru alot of e -cigs that didn't work right. My advice would be go and order the pen puresmoker cig. I have a Janty kissbox pen and just now put in a order for puresmoker. The kissbox is working and all. I just want to have plenty of e-cigs. I am trying to get all set up to quit analogs. Buying juice to see what I like. Getting atomizers, ETC. I have a screwdriver e-cig on order too. I want to get this all right before I stop this time. I have tried to stop analogs before and didn't have all my supplies. Anyway My advice.

Hi Laurenh33,

I know you probably don't want to hear this right out of the gate, but my first advice would be read, read, read and read some more. There's are a ton of information here. Tutorials, reviews, videos and a lot of really nice folks who will help you along the way.

That being said...
I'm new here too, and like you, my first e cig is an NJOY.
I also have Puresmoker products now and a Janty Dura on it's way.
I have been reading about the atomiser, and it's problems, for a while now and these are my thoughts:

1. The quality and design of these components vary, not only from the different manufacturers but also different models from each manufacturer. So it's possible to get a bad one right out of the box. No matter how much care you demonstrate it's just not going to last, or maybe even work from the very first puff. On the other hand, you can get a good one that lasts for months. (again, from what I have read)
It may not be your atomiser at all... it may be your batteries. Swapping known good components with suspect ones is a good place to start when something doesn't work.

2. There are precautions you can take to extend the life of the atomiser. Different cleaning methods. Letting them drain, boiling, steaming. compressed air, removing the battery when the self clean cycle starts... etc. Some even claim you can bring a dead one "back to life".

3. Different user preferences also come into play. Using carts only, dripping, topping off and/or dry smoking, how much and how often, quality of the liquid you use, different suppliers and changes to the liquids from those suppliers.

4. Usage. Atomisers, as I understand them, convert the e liquid to vapor by heating up. Under normal conditions the atomisers are kept moist/damp and it should function normally. If the atomiser is operated with little or no liquid, this may overheat the device and "fry" it. Anything that interferes with the atomiser functioning the way it was designed, puts the component at risk. Fibers, debris, sediment, contaminents, etc... not good.

This forum is filled with threads from users/members trying their very best to figure out the problems and improve the experience. There are no guarantees, when it comes to purchasing a device that it will work right out of the box and/or for how long. No matter who you buy it from, or how much you spend, you can still get a defective device. Then it becomes a matter of customer service.

Remember also, that these things are relatively new and each new change/upgrade usually brings new bugs/problems. It's all pretty much a dice roll right now. I love the devices I have (right now) and I know I'm not going back to cigarettes.

I like Puresmoker mostly because of Steve's customer service and the fact that he is U.S. based. I have not had a problem yet, but this is only day 3 of my plunge into e-smoking.

So should you give up on the NJoys and try Puresmoker?
That's totally up to you.
Things to consider... ship/wait time, price, customer service/response time, praises/complaints, recent problems, forum members discussions/opinions.

Like I said, I'm new here too, so if I'm wrong or off the mark on anything, I'm sure someone will jump in here to help us out.

Good luck and welcome! :D
