Hello, am hoping this gets read and responded to. I post it with apologies, as I clearly haven't understood the join-up rules re: posting. I just tried to add a post to an existing thread, but then got blocked from doing so because I don't have the required number of posts. I probably ought to understand it all, but don't. Tight time schedule at the moment, so unable to read copious notes if that is what is required.

Thus - in hope - have started this thread which at least makes one post, I presume (four more to go?) With a further hope that if I still have this wrong, some lovely soul will come along and just tell me - words of one syllable, please - what I need to be doing.

Meanwhile, a big hi from UK to the vaping community. 11 months cig-free now, and loving it! x

Gosh, that was quick. Many thanks to you all for replies/advice.

Yes, 11 months ciggy-free, and so delighted. Was a 'smoker' for over 35-years, and had tried hypnotism, pills (twice), acupuncture, and patches. Those all got me no-where in the giving up stakes. Disgraceful I know, but..... Then there were the odd few attempts using nothing more than self-will. OMG...... how disastrous was that? I once managed an entire day, but, reaching bed-time, I was ready to kill anything or anyone who came near me.

However, finally, heard about vaping. Phfftt, a load of rubbish, another sales-pitch (waste of money). Not quite sure why, but for whatever the reason, something stirred me to investigate further. I found Chrissie's All-About site. Within 24 hours had placed an order: Riva kit. 48 hours later, it arrived. It took me a few hours of playing about to get it all going and achieving that 'throat-hit' - which for me is what the smoking was all about. (Putting aside the nicotine need of course.) I was hooked!!!!

2 days later I lit a real cig to compare (couldn't believe that after nearly 40 years I had forgotten??) but, two puffs and I put it out. Tasted awful!! Haven't touched one since.

Now happily vaping big-time, with my preferred juice being a combination of coffee, caramel, maple - sometimes with the addition of apple. Very happy UK vaping-bunny here. xxx

Welcome Hanow and congrats on your quitting smoking. I'm still a newbie....only been smoke free 67 days, after 40 years, so I know where you're coming from. Mother's Day was tuff for me cuz Mom smokes and I wanted one so badly. But, I remembered the cough, cough, cough and was able to get thru the day without a puff.
Come here often and meet all the amazing, helpful people....it's worth the time.
Nice to meet ya!! :vapor:

Meant to ask, how/when do I get let out of the quarantine pen? Am I informed via some means? Do I receive bells, whistles and trumpet blowing via email (or in here)?

Haven't yet worked out the smileys thing, so sorry that my posts aren't too decorated. Minus figures on the tech front I am afraid. (Insert sad face thingy here.)

Hi and welcome...I don't recall any ceremony on the 5th post, you'll just be free to roam about ... There may be a time delay before the shackles are removed...lol...if it doesn't work right away, give it an hour or so...

Well, happy to accept that rules is rules.

Also had a peek at where you all are. Lots in USA. Hi. Any chaps around prepared to don the Richard Gere 'Officer and Gentleman' uniform and say Ma'am, my knees will buckle - gets me every time!

Have been tuning in to a live web-cam in Iowa, Decorah eagles nesting. How great is that. Vaping and snooping, all at the same time. :2cool:

However, finally, heard about vaping. Phfftt, a load of rubbish, another sales-pitch (waste of money).

You are right there, that is exactly where I was at, till I tried it. Now that I am doing this, all my smoking friends think "what a load of rubbish!"

Ya cant win there, however my daughter knows just how addicted I was to cigarettes, now she is vaping and off of cigarettes for 3 days now.

Other people are starting to take notice.

But you made me laugh, yep... a load of rubbish is exactly what I thought.

p.s. you could always make a mistake and reply to a post twice... then you will be at 5 ;)

But after a while you will run into the other annoying number... I think it is 70 posts, and you can no longer start a thread in the new members section, only reply to others.

Im still a newbie... but I post a lot, and this is a very active forum! :)
