I am soo stoked this morning that I had to Share with all of you. For his birthday, I got my sil a Halo Triton set with some extra tanks. He loved the look of the iridescence battery. He was not a huge fan of the menthol offerings from halo, but he really wanted those batteries. So we got him the Halo triton Triton kit and away we went!
......smallish problem. Everyone else's menthols crack, cloud or otherwise destroy Halo tanks. Been searching for an alternative and kept coming up empty. A lot of you have as well.
~~~~~~and then~~~~
A Solution!!!! So shocked I never found this answer on these for all the searching I had done on this one thing. And it is....
Kangertech Protank Mini v2
Works beautifully, fits right on the outer threads!!!! Yay!!!! The search is over!!!
See!:
Okay.... :-( it is possible I spoke way too soon. The Protank fits perfectly on the triton *before* you install the coil head. What gives?!?! After you put the head on, it is like it doesn't reach!!
The adapter I got leaves a skinny little neck between the battery and the tank. If you happen to find an adapter that makes the battery to tank area look flush or fluted please share!
I didn't realize that mbv had that and I've ordered from there twice... (smacks head with palm) Guess I got an excuse now to be getting something again lol. Anyone seen the prices on their evods??? Crazy! Anyway I don't want to go on a tangent and people start talking about other sites in the halo forum. So I'll shut up now!
Chapeltown, I love my mini pro tank 2 with my kanger evod vv. They're were built for each other(both kanger) so the tank fits flush. I tried putting it on a generic ego and it fits, but it kind of wobbles and there's a slight gap. So going with a kanger battery is the way to go with ur pt2. Also love that flush button.
Hmmmmm. I want to experiment with mixing pure menthol juice into Halo Torque or even Tribeca. Are you inferring that if I do this, it will screw up the Triton tanks? Have you experienced this? I like mixing the Sub-Zero with these, but it is not really menthol- more like a strong mint. I am still searching for what I consider a "holy grail" of menthol tobacco. :vapor: NicQuid makes 100% menthol "Added Burst" flavoring for adding to e-liquids......
Hmmm. I really like ECBLEND's 'Perilous Mint'. Not for the faint of heart! It's strong, so much so, it doesn't allow for any 'flavor hits'. Never affected my Triton tanks. Even tho it's got mint in the name, it taste like real menthol to me.
I am finding this extremely interesting. My son has lost two tanks in the last month.....one to a sassafras blend of mine, and one to mbv menthols. I went to unscrew the mouth piece off (because it did not seem he was cleaning them) and the threading fell off of the rest of the mouth piece in pieces.... Then when I looked at the tank itself, it was really cloudy and appeared to have etching through it.
ME thinks Halo should make glass tanks.
I have not had a problem with there tanks, I would prefer glass though.
Halo tanks are very good. From perusing other threads, these tanks work out of the box, produces mondo vapor, few leak problems and Halo stands behind their products.
As to a glass tank, this goes to the core of Halo's marketing strategy. All of Halo's gear works great with other Halo gear. And all of Halo's e-liquids work flawlessly in their gear. Halo e-liquid will not damage a Halo tank (or probably any other quality tank). Most of their gear is proprietary. Yea, there are some tanks equal to the 2 Halo tanks that fit, but I've heard numerous complaints about leaking and off taste (manufacturing residue) from competitors products.
In Halo philosophy, it is a one stop entity. Use Halo juice in Halo equipment. They have no reason to R&D a Pyrex tank so that a competitor's liquid can be used.
Unless Halo develops a heavy citrus or cinnamon flavor, I don't foresee a Halo glass tank anytime soon.
Having said that, it'd be nice, I'd be ordering it within 24 hours of release.
I wanted to experience VV and the ProTank Mini's and ended up with an EVOD. This all started because of limitations of the plastic tanks. People are going to want to experience other flavors; however, plastic is the standard.
I personally would like Halo to focus on juices though, especially the gourmet line.
My wife has tried tons of different mints, from a couple of different local shops, all in her g6 mini tanks or Triton tanks, and she's never had a problem.
That said, she has been eyeing a couple of juices that could crack plastic, so I'd love to see a glass tank from Halo as well. It would give people less reason to go elsewhere.
