Howdy folks, my bad if this has been covered, I looked LoL. I just got a V2 and have been using my protank and Novas and noticed a huge gap between them and the mod, is there something to fix this? Does it matter other then looks? I'm assuming the tighter the better just like everything else right :p Thx ppl

Hi

We were just talking about that in another thread this morning. There is a gap with 510 devices on a lot of mods, but it bothers some people more than others. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE VAMO!! Problems with the threading is common. Check the threads in the Vamo sub-forum for more info. Actually, it's a good practice with all of your vaping gear not to tighten passed a secure connection.

I will look for the info I posted about possible solutions to the gap and repost it here when I find it.

The gap really doesn't matter. Other than for looks as you said. Be very careful when cranking down your delivery devices onto the Vamo. First the threads are known to be a weak spot and second, you can and will push the center pin down and it is a PITA to fix. If the gap really bothers you then you can get an air flow restrictor to put between the ProTank and the Vamo. Then the ProTank will have the appearance of flush mounting.

Repost Alert!

The gap between the Vamo and Vivis, Protanks and likely most other 510 devices is an ongoing problem. It's true for the ProVari as well, although there are a couple of vendors who make rings ($$$).

I tried the Protank ring on my V2 again, plus the "B," "C" and "D" type eGo rings, but they weren't right. A couple of other forums suggested going to a hardware store and looking at washers, which might work, but I don't think are aesthetically pleasing due to the flat edge; maybe not. I'm using plain jewelry rings on my mods now, but probably too feminine for you.

But then! Then! I got inspired! I searched small tapered washers. These probably aren't right (first results rarely are), but it does prove there are possibilities! These wouldn't screw in of course, but neither do mine.

I don't know the diameter of the Vivi connector, but the VAMO V3 (which my guess is you got?) is 22mm in diameter. This washer is 18mm.

Last one (unless I find something amazing):

Washers and conversion washers sleeve nut washers.

Perhaps you know a machinist who could customize one a bit - or even make one. I've found that if I buy glass for frames from a proper glass store, instead of an art store, the price is ridiculously inexpensive.

That gap is there because the 510 connector is slightly raised to allow for air flow. It doesn't really hurt anything. I usually put an ego cone on mine to help support my 510 stuff and keep the device from being able to rock back and forth wearing on the threads. eGo Chrome Cone for the 3.5 mL Dual Coil Tank

I was looking at this actually already, for the same reason. as for the advise to not over tighten I appreciate it, I'm a Reo/era owner I know the rules, it seems the center pin is the same as an ego? It's easy to pull up using eyeglasses flat heads, if its the same of course lol.. Thx everybody.

Just get a thin ego thread cover ring, screw it on just far enough that the Protank 510 makes its connection comfortably. Something like this

Small eGo Thread Covering

edit: set it up on my Vamo to show you, cant get rid of the other picture

Idk i use Evod heads in my Protank the draw is pretty tight, but i feel like its better
its not just the draw, without this little cone it wobbled and I'm worried something will break in the pocket, with this cone it tightens draw and it doesn't wobble one bit..
