Its not a switch that is holding anything up, its the battery, there currentely aren't many batteries that will fit the protege that will give you more than 3.7v. Maybe some special made not off the shelf batteries.
Its not an engineering fix on Steve's side that is holding that up.

It could be done but it would be kind of bulky.
Maybe a screw on expansion with space for an additional battery at the bottom and a regulated adapter on top.

2 cr2s might fit if you put em in a vice and squeezed. But seriously no the 14500 fits snug so the ID is close to 14.5 mm... Battery numbers are measurements ie 14500 = 14 mm diameter x 50 mm long and the 0 on the end means cylinder shaped. CR2s are 15270 or 15 mm diameter x 27 mm long...
those arent rechargeable...find 1/2 AA's in 3v rechargeable, that would rock

Well hell what do you know.. But that would need a resistor because you would be pushing 7.4 volts... Maybe when GG puts out those new atomizers.

You know that you can order special batteries from these manufacturers. Maybe if we got 1000 people together to buy some they would make them for us..lol.. a 14500 at 5.5 volts would be the ticket.

I actually bought some samller versions of Cr2 at a local battery shop... Lighthound.com. I was waiting for my ultrafire cr2 from china and couldnt wait so I got these unmarked "CR2s"... Little did I know they were actually 3.7v a peice... SERIOUS vapor and SERIOUSLY BAD TASTE.... However, it you take a 1-2 second pull off of them, they are actually pretty decent! I bet money they would fit in the protege and they are rechargeable! Lemmie digg a up a link.

These are 1 mm to large in diameter will not fit because the 14500 is tight.
They have more wiggle room in my 510 magnum mod from cisco then the 14500 that goes in there as well... The cr2 ultrafire fit with 0 wiggle room...
