Atty adapter issue

I am a(mostly) 901 atty user but recently I had to send my only PV in for repairs. I borrowed an eGo PT which is of course a 510. I am using a 510 to 901 adapter but I'm finding that I have to pull really hard and sometimes still not get any vapor. It works fine if the atty is really hot but then it eats my juice up quick. I am using a brand new Vapor King atty if that matters. Also, I am hearing a lot of popping and sizzling and a really horrible burnt taste, check to see if it is dry and it is definitely not. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any info

Did you blow out the atty, before you started using it Mf ?? I could have some factory oil still in it.

I usually blow it out and use a few drops and if I can still taste it I will clean it using a method I seen on here, but I blew it out and tried it and it tasted fine but after about a days use I could taste that nasty primer taste and blew it out again but two days later can still taste that nasty primer.
