So, I'm thinkin about charging via atty connector and having some minor brain farts so I figured I'd brain dump here and let the geniuses tell me what they think.

I'm thinking about taking a copper tube mod, say with a latch for the button to 'complete' the circuit so the postive pole is actually connected to the atty connector, then taking one of my battery chargers and basically running hte positive and negative to the appropriate spots on a blank atomizer barrel (i.e. the male connector) and just screwing it in. There's no reason this shouldn't work right?

On the same line if I ran a second connection from both the positive and negative to a micro-usb female plug and put it on my mod somewhere then made modifications to a battery charger so the pos and negative went to appropriate spots on a female USB por I could use a micro to standard USB cable and just plug it in to charge the battery in the mod as well yes?

Should work. You can connect it to a 510 charger if using a 510 connector.

I don't know if I would use a USB connector for a connection like that. It would be possible to inadvertently connect it to a USB port and you don't want to put 5V on a Li-Ion battery. If unprotected (IMR batt for example), there's a good chance the battery would vent, aside from destroying it even if it doesn't. Also, the contacts on mini-B and micro connectors are very small and difficult to solder by hand. The sockets are generally made to be soldered to a PCB and it's almost impossible to solder wires onto them. The male ones are a lot easier for soldering wires, but still difficult.

For a quick charger connector like that, I'd use a polarized .1" pitch header. They're cheap, small, and easy to solder. Those are the connectors you see on computer motherboards for the fans.

You can actually incorporate the charging electronics into your mod pretty easily. There are modules available for that like this one or this one.

Otherwise, you'll need a Li-Ion charger that hooks up to the battery through some kind of connector. I think he was saying you could use a barrel connector (DC power jack) for that which is another option aside from the pin header I mentioned. He just did not indicate that clearly.
