I had an atty on my dura-c sizzle violently when attaching a new batt afew months back. thinking it was the batt i tried a new batt and you can guess what happend next. has anyone else had a atty kill a batt instead of the other way around? I've yet to see this in another thread

Yes This Does Happen. My Original Auto Dura Same Issue. The Atom Was Shorted Out. Toss It or RMA That With The Batt. Do Not Attempt To Use it Again....

Actually, the battery protection circuit should prevent this from happening. Under normal conditions the atomizer is already just a few ohms from a dead short. A new atomizer resistance is about 3 ohms. The battery should shut off about 2.5 volts and prevent any damage to the battery. I think this sounds like a battery malfunction.

Sorry skyward,
i forgot to stay on subject. I can't understand how an atty could do that. Like I said previously the protection circuit should have shut down the battery and stop it from being damaged. But, it obviously did happen so I guess you were a victim of a catostrophic failure. Are they covered by a warranty?

I just got my first defective 510 atty. It was a Joye510 not a Janty if that matters.

It crackled like crazy. Not a normal crackle at all. More like a sharp sparking noise, only there was no lit up area or vapor.

the atty actually leaked fluid on the battery side. I couldn't drip it at all. No vapor and the liquid would run right through to the battery end.

Inside the atty = it looked normal. On the battery end, one of the 2 vent holes was plugged with some white material. Something must have dislodged in manufacture and got stuck there. I thought about trying to poke whatever was in there out, but because it was a minutes old atty, I decided to send it back.

Weird thing is I could vape it fine with a full cart. That was enough to slowly moisten the atty bridge. It would still leak on the battery end, but slower.

Didn't want to take a chance on it screwing up my passthrough so I immediately removed it.
