Atty makes noise but no vapor???

So I may have lost my first atty. I boiled it as a cleaning method yesterday and put it on a full battery today (also tried it with a second battery). It makes noise when the button is activated, but produces no vapor. I dry burned it, but can see no red in the coil.

I figured when they died they died all the way. Is it normal for it to still get power, but not heat?

Like I said it crackles while doing the dry burn but doesn't heat up.

edit: Update - ok both atty's that were boiled are behaving the same way. And they DO seem to be heating up because I can feel them getting warmer. Just not hot enough to vaporize.

still wet attys do that. they gurgle for a bit and pop, but eventually it should work fine. if not, i have also heard of people whos attys dont glow but work just fine anyways. put some juice in, burn, blow out, do it again, then see if it produces vapor. other than that im not sure.
