After reading a bit on the 510 attys that come with the eGo I felt like I could expect for my first one to not last so long. As of now it has lasted almost a week and a half. I guess my question is... how do you know when an addy is dead? Does it just not work at all (produce any heat or vapor)? Or is there a taste that you get that tells you it is on it's last leg? TIA for any help with this :D

Mine to just stop doing anything at all. No vapor no glow no nothing. I always change to a fresh battery to check its not a battery issue btw.
Sometimes they give me warning (hard draw is the one I notice most) but most times they just die.
One died when I was reading a thread on here about atties dying - oh irony how cruel is thy sting?

After about a month, I had my first atty die on me. It was working fine, then I got on a plane and, when I got off, I went to vape and was getting no signs of life from it whatsoever. It just died in between vaping sessions with no warning signs.

Right now, I have 4 in stock - two that are in use (I only vape a couple of flavors so one is for menthol and one is for cherry and cola flavors) and two new ones sitting with my stash. I usually take a spare with me when I go out, just in case, and, when the next one dies, I'll just pick up a new one with my next juice order so I always have a couple of new ones handy for when an exisiting one goes kaput.

I found that was a good part of my initial, upfront cost when I started vaping and found that I liked it - I wanted to make sure I had enough spare parts so if an atty or battery died, I wouldn't be left high and dry.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will need to order some more attys as I have some new juice coming in and I only have 2 attys that came with the starter kit. I still can't believe how easy it was to make the switch. I thought for sure I would feel the need to smoke an analog once in a while. I think it is going on 11 days now since I got the eGo and I haven't had even one. So glad I found this site. You all have been a tremendous help :)

Just remember that you can clean attys and should do so probably once a week. Or at least when it starts to lag in performance. Cleaning them can extend the life of the atty. Below is a link for cleaning them and in no way am I suggesting that you are a dummy. :p

Ha.. I feel like a dummy when it comes to these things. Any help is much appreciated. I actually didn't know how I was supposed to clean them so thank you for the link!
